Revival is something that happens to us when the shekinah glory of the Lord comes down, when there is such an awareness of His presence that men and woman can can stand in the refining fire of God and exalt His holiness, fall on their faces in the awe and majesty that comes, not from a head knowledge, but from a radical encounter with a living God that has “stepped down.” When He steps down, time ceases to have meaning. The cares of this world disappear. The world of all possibilities open up. There is great joy, there is weeping, the lost cry out “is there mercy for me,” and they rejoice to find out , yes indeed there is mercy for the man of Calvary has come and walks in the midst of His people. Jesus, that name, the fullness of the Godhead, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords is revival. God Himself is an encounter.

When I sawΒ President BushΒ stand there and speak yesterday and this morning, I have never seen such a humiliated person. To have to announce policy’s in front of the whole world, which diametrically oppose everythingΒ he stands for, is the severest of judgments.Β Literally having to eat your words. We should fear the judgments of the Lord, He is to be feared.

There is a time for shouting and praising God, but if we are ignoring the knocking, then we must stop shouting. If our lives are not reflecting the Glory of God, if we are not becoming like His Son, daily, then all of our shouting and praising God will just be so much noise. This is a vision that I had as I stood on a terrace in Croatia. My wife and I went there last year on our 25th anniversary. Before I went the Lord had shown me that I would meet someone there and that it would be significant, just did not know that He was talking about Himself. The whole piece was my vision, He gave me a new way of writing my testimony and ofΒ writing aboutΒ coming into His presence, then the Word that He gave me for the church, I wrote in red at the end. I pray that this will challenge and convict youβ¦β¦β¦β¦.

Madam Guyon writesβ¦β¦β¦β¦β¦.I am deeply grieved that so many in this day(she lived 300 years ago, people never change)even some good people, allow themselves to be led astray by the enemy. Has not God warned us against false prophets and lying wonders of the last days? All true prophets have spoken in the name of the Lord-βThus says the Lord.β The enemy gains great advantage because people love extraordinary manifestations, signs and wonders. I believe the inordinate love of external signs is used of the enemy to draw people away from the Word of God and from the inward way of faith.The signs that come from God encourage you to die to yourself. Its about being transparent in our walk with Him. Its about taking back ground and being more effective for Him. Its about the fact that darkness must flee when it is exposed to light. This is the battle and it mostly takes place in the mind, the flesh demanding that it be protected at all costs, not wanting to be βhumiliated,β or βhumbled,β in the sight of man.

Are you tired of living in fear? Lets call fear what it is, it is a lack of trust in God. Trust is the foundation of any relationship, trust and commitment. How can we be committed to a God in whom we do not trust? When we do not trust Him, then we are calling Him a liar. If we step outside of trusting Him, then we begin to run our own lives, making our own decisions. When a Christian makes a decision, based on fear, disaster inevitably follows.

It is a great wonder that some of the most riveting and memorable stories in the Bible are not about βgood folk.β The Lord had came down from heaven to highlight love and grace and mercy and redemption. How better to do that than on the canvas of some of the greatest sinners. Against the blackness of these lives we see the brilliance and the total majesty of grace. When one goes into a jewelers and looks at diamonds, most times they are shown against black velvet. The blackness of the background only highlights the beauty and perfection of the gems. In much the same way Jesus chose those folk with black backgrounds to highlight the utter beauty of a love that ignores the vileness of the gutter, the sewers of life, to demonstrate the indescribable grace and mercy of God .He would not only condescend to come to a dark earth, but would go right into the hells of our society, not with condemnation but with open loving forgiving arm. Praise God I speak not from theory.

Learning to trustΒ in God relies upon us not knowing what is going to happen next. Yet the tyranny of fear means that we will cling to any man who promises us results in the midst of seeming defeat. Even our own hearts deceive us. What makes perfect sense to us, does not always play out as many could testify to. Let me ask you something, and be honest, when did you die? Can you remember dying and being born-again? Now, I am not talking about stepping forward and signing the pledge in some Sunday school class when you were six. I am asking you when you died? To die to the world is a wrenching experience, but it is an experience.
