Preachers arrested for publicly quoting Scripture in Britain

Posted by appolus on February 28, 2017

When you are arrested for pronouncing that “Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and no man comes to the Father except through Me,” so as not to upset Muslims, you know your country is careering headlong into darkness.

The beauty of freedom and holiness.

Posted by appolus on February 22, 2017

Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Here is one of the greatest liberating truths of the Word of God. I want you to read it again slowly and ponder that simple yet profound truth. So many genuine saints struggle in this area. They wonder if they are good enough, holy enough, righteous enough. Perhaps I do not pray enough? Maybe I do not go to church enough? Maybe I do not read the Bible enough, share enough, give enough and on and on it goes. Where is the peace in that brothers and sisters? God has called you to life and that more abundantly. A life of joy and peace and love and forgiveness. He has not called us to the bondage of self-examination. Notice I did not say we are not to examine ourselves, but He did not call us to the bondage of it.

If while you were yet lost in your sin, God loved you with an everlasting love and sent His only Son to die for you, how much more, after becoming a child of the Living God does the Living God love you? It is His life in us that frees us from all bondage. You cannot have your eyes fixed on Him if they are fixed on you. Think about your salvation this day, think about all the Lord has done for you, think about everything He has brought you through. Think about His love and His glory and His majesty and His beauty and the beauty of His Holiness. As you do these things the life of Christ begins to burn in your chest. The power of God, the life manifested in us. And out of the life of Christ comes a manifested peace and joy.

Friends with benefits!

Posted by appolus on February 20, 2017

So, I was talking to a young woman this morning. She is in her 20s and is a smart and good looking young lady. I asked her about her weekend and she told me she spent it with her friend. Oh, I said, not your boyfriend? She kinda struggled with the words to tell me yes, but not really. I asked her what that meant? Well, we have not called ourselves that. I asked her how do you introduce each other and she said as friends. I asked her if she loved him and after some struggling she said yes but you cant say that, you have to wall it in. And I asked her if love could be walled? ( which is where the idea from the poem below came from) Bottom line she said they were friends with benefits. I asked her who that really benefits? I told her she was worth more than that. She is not the first young person I have spoken to who are afraid to commit to a relationship. It seems that the 20 something generation are terribly insecure, am I right or have I gotton it wrong? Here is the poem ……………..

Can love truly be walled
Does it really matter what a relationship is called
Even if we deny the word for fear of rejection
I think what is really happening is called protection

So, you have given what you have away
Do you really think he is gonna stay?
You love him but you cannot say it aloud
Your introduced as a friend when he is with the crowd

A friend, really? Is that all it is?
Is this what you imagined before your first kiss
When you dreamed of love and being swept off your feet
He can sleep with someone else and he is not even a cheat

And so love dwells deep within your heart
Are you truly close or are you really worlds apart
Is he there for the benefits and that’s all he really wants
And dreams of relationships are nothing more than taunts

And so love is real and it can never be walled
No matter if your “only” a friend and that’s all your ever called
This is not your destiny you are called to something higher
A commitment, a promise, a ring, is what you should require

Overcoming mountains

Posted by appolus on February 20, 2017

Have you ever seen the mountain goat traverse almost vertical sheer cliffs? It is a sight to behold. In the making of these goats God withheld fear. It is as if the mountain is not there. There is something in their very make up that causes them to move with ease in surroundings that would kill almost any other living creature, God made it so. When gross darkness comes upon us brothers and sisters, there is a perfect love that casts out all fear. We traverse the mountains and the valleys and the shadows of death with power and love and a mind that is stayed upon Him. He is your strength and He will make you fearless when the time comes and you will walk in high places. Even in the midst of great turmoil and chaos, peace will reign in the hearts of the saints whose eyes are stayed on Him.

The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon my high places. (Hab 3:17-19)

The path that leads to glory

Posted by appolus on February 19, 2017

Suffering is the path that leads to glory!

A wise man once wrote ” Friction is the polish that shines our graces.” Another way of saying that could be ” suffering is the path that leads to glory.” Now, this is never a popular teaching, but suffering is a gift from God in the sense that it helps to sanctify us and shape us and teach us. The flesh screams out against ever going down that path. As mere humans we would never personally choose to go down such a path. Yet do you know what that path is called? It’s called the narrow path and it leads to life. One might ask ” how can trials and humiliations , pain and suffering and even sometimes death lead to life?”

As Christians, do we really need to ask that question? This was the life of Christ. He was acquainted with suffering, He was a man of sorrows. Some would teach that He suffered so that we would not have to. This is not true. He overcame suffering and hell and death so that we could overcome too in His name and by the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures tells us that “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; (Heb 5:8-9)
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;(Php 1:29)

If you are suffering today and in the midst of a sore trial, I want to encourage you. God is in control. He knows and He sees. There is nothing lost not a single tear. One day soon, all of those tears will be wiped away in the glories of heaven.

A vision of heavenly worship

Posted by appolus on February 14, 2017

I wrote this today trying to describe a vision I once had.

I saw there, Golden wheat fields
Resplendent in the sun
And as the Spirit moved on them
They seemed to move as one

The fields went on forever
As far as the eye could see
They rolled like the waves of the ocean wide
Upon a golden sea

But as I looked yet closer
These stocks of wheat were saints
They worshiped unashamedly
For there were no restraints

The wind of the Spirit blew on them
And there they moved as one
Giving glory to the King of Kings
Rejoicing in the Son

They sang the song of Moses there
And glory to the Lamb
Upon a swaying glassy sea
And in that sea I swam

This sea it was eternal
It gathered round the throne
And each and every one of us
Would never be alone

Now the wheat fields sway majestically
Moving gently in the breeze
And they will sway forevermore
Like the waves of eternal seas

Now We were one as He is one
We were one in the Spirit true
And it all began when we were born
When we were born anew

Chorus

So we’ll sing the song of Moses there
And glorify the Lamb
We’ll worship and adore the King
For He is the great I am

A rising army-a vision from God.

Posted by appolus on February 13, 2017

Many years ago I had a vision. I have not had too many visions, but this was the most vivid of them all.

The beginning of the vision was a loud booming voice calling all Christians to awake , “Awake you sleepy Christians.” “Who will ascend Gods Holy Hill? Those with a pure heart and clean hands. This was scene 1, a call to arms. Then the second scene unfolded. I saw thousands of baby turtles heading from the dunes towards the sea. They had a wide beach ahead of them. Before most of them could cross the beach and reach the water they were attacked by birds of every kind. The power of the air had come to attack them, seagulls by the hundreds making a horrendous shrieking noise as they feasted on their helpless prey. Birds of every kind joined the attack, swooping down and pecking and carrying the baby turtles off. Then from the dunes came raccoons and critters of every kind to join in the frenzy and drag these hapless baby turtles away. Just when I thought the slaughter could not get worse, and the turtles were so close to the sea and safety, out from under the sand came crabs, crabs with large pincers which tore into the turtles and they dragged them under the sand to be devoured. As all of this was going on, I could see Scripture framing this whole scene. “Many are called but few are chosen,” “Broad is the road that leads to destruction, narrow is the path that leads to life.”

Suddenly the scene changes, I am on a beach. It was the Normandy landings from WW11. Death was all around me. Young men being killed right where I stood and the severely wounded were all around me, the young men were desperately seeking for a place to hide, for some kind of barrier to protect them from the onslaught. There were kids with their innards hanging out and they were trying to stop them from spilling onto the beach, while screaming for their mothers. Men with their limbs blown off, total chaos and mayhem all around and the screams were deafening.

Suddenly the scene changes again. There is a Rock with a sword embedded into it. This sits right in the middle of an arena. On strolls a man who is dressed like William Wallace,he addresses his vastly outnumbered army who are thinking about fleeing from the battle. The man, who is actually Jesus dressed in full Scottish battle dress, reaches forward , and with both hands, pulls the Claymore from the Rock and turns to address the crowd in the arena.

“ I am Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I am maker of heaven and earth and I am the Holy Son of the Living God. I hold in my hand the two-edged sword. And with this sword I will surely destroy all the enemies. This vast army of evil that you see here before you. This army that has dared to challenge the living God, this army that has exposed itself on the battlefield will be completely destroyed this very day. I see another army here before me, the army of the Living God. You have gathered here today in defiance of darkness and tyranny. You have come here to fight as free men and free men you are, for it is I that gave you that very freedom. So you see with your eyes that you are few and they are many, you see that you are vastly outnumbered. Will you fight today? “No, we will run and we will live,” shouts a man from the crowd. “Yes, if you run now you will live a while. If you stay and fight you may die, but I have called you here this day to die in a battle that will be celebrated for all eternity. Yet for those who run and “live,” what kind of life will you live? When you are dying in your beds, many years from now, how many of you will cry out with regret, having lived a life of compromise and shame and know in your heart that you would be willing to trade forty years of compromise for one day of glory in this great battlefield of the flesh. This battle of light against darkness. To be able to say to your enemies “yes, you may kill me and I may have to lose everything this very day but one thing you will never take, you will never take my soul.”

Now the scene changes again. I am in the stadium or arena . Men of God form a semicircle in front of the crowd of young people. Behind the men of God is a sea of flags. The flags are blowing in the wind. The flags represent the enemies that the Holy Spirit had just shown me. The enemies that attacked the turtles each had names and the names were written on the flags. Some of the names were rebellion, lust, sex, drugs, beer, abuse, suicide, bitterness, hatred, greed, materialism, incest, rape, murder and many many more. The call is made to the crowd, it’s the call that Jesus has just made, “Will you come forward and die to these thing this day?” They respond to the call to arms and begin to move forward in obedience. They run towards the enemy, they kneel and pray with the men of God and then arise and move past them and with pure hearts and clean hands they make their way towards the flag that represents what they have just laid down. They pull up the flag and they break it over their knees and throw it to the ground. Freedom rings out into the night sky, the rejoicing rises up into heaven itself and all of heaven rejoices to see Satan’s kingdom torn down and Gods young people taking back that which is theirs, that which is Gods, their very heart. And Satan trembles at the rise of this army.

A word from the Lord

Posted by appolus on February 11, 2017

(The Lord woke me last night with this, I got out of bed and wrote it down)

“Revival does not come about because we desire to see something fixed, it comes about because we desire to see God.”

I believe what the Lord saying to me was a constant. What I mean by that is that the Lord is not moved by circumstances, He is not reactionary in that sense. He is constant, He is never changing, He is immutable.Often times we as individuals or as a Body are on a roller coaster ride of emotions and circumstances. Other times we are just dulled to the things of this life especially when we lose the passion of our first love. So, seeking God, desiring to see Him for nothing more than the desire to see Him, to encounter Him, to be swept away by Him, to be taken up by Him, this strong desire leads to personal and corporate revival. In the great faith chapter we read……….

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Diligence is an interesting word. In the Greek it means to search out, to seek, to crave. When we do this we are rewarded by finding that which we seek…….bro Frank

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.(Jer 29:11-14)

I am whole yet broken

Posted by appolus on February 7, 2017

I am whole
Yet I am broken
And the love of the Lord
Is no mere token
He is light and He is love
He’s my all in all and He’s enough

I was down
You raised me up
I was lost and empty
You came and filled my cup
You’re my light and you’re my love
You’re my all in all and you’re enough

I was chained
You set me free
I had suffered defeat
Yet you gave me victory
You’re my light and you’re my love
You’re my all in all and you’re enough

I was broken
You made me whole
I was full of sin
And you came and saved my soul
You’re my light and you’re my love
You’re my all in all and you’re enough

So take my heart
That once was broken
And let me show the world
You’re no mere token
You’re their light and you’re their love
You’re their all in all and you’re enough

So here’s my heart
Whole before you’re throne
It once was lost
Now shall never be alone
You’re my light and you’re my love
You’re my all in all and you’re enough

There is a madness.

Posted by appolus on February 5, 2017

There is a madness in the air. It is so lunatic that it beggars description. All around the world there is delusional thinking. Can you imagine that you are right there, watching the pied piper play his tune and the whole world is intoxicated with it and are dancing. They are winding their way out-of-town and heading towards a mighty cliff and are falling of the edge. The people behind cannot see that the ones in front are falling off because they are so intoxicated by the music and the piper plays on. You run up and down the winding crowd and scream out that they are being led over a cliff. As you do that they begin to mock and jeer. Yet you don’t quit. This begins to infuriate the crowd because your noise is interrupting their enjoyment of the intoxicating music. Their fury begins to turn violent because you will not quit warning them and it is all just a noise that interrupts their intoxication. When the violence achieves nothing then they must turn to murder because they are now addicted to the intoxicating music and your noise is interrupting their enjoyment even although the path that they follow leads directly off a cliff.

There is a blindness that goes along with madness. The world is mad and they are blind and there is a ditch or a cliff or a broad path. All of it leads down into the bowels of hell. Have you ever tried to rationalize with a madman? I think much of the frustration that is going on right now, and the reason that people are so polarized is the difference between night and day. It’s the difference between darkness and light. The darkness does not comprehend the light. If one is given over to nothing then they understand nothing. Yet it is not good enough just to understand what is going on if you are devoid of love. For then your very understanding will become darkness to you and you will find yourself intoxicated. One minute you will be shouting a warning at the crowd and the next minute you will be dancing wildly with the crowd as it heads down the broad winding path. Be careful saints, for the music is really intended for you. Wrap yourself in light and all the more so as the day darken and the storm approaches.

Precious is the day. (a word to someone today)

Posted by appolus on February 1, 2017

Precious is the day
You pulled me in from stormy seas
Precious is the way
You compelled me down upon my knees

Your love was a holy lifeline
For me to take a hold
Your mercy spoke straight to my heart
The greatest story every told

Your forgiveness was like manna
It was food to a starving man
You gave me hope to journey on
Through my many tears I saw your plan

It was a plan to prosper me
And escape from the miry clay
To put my feet on solid ground
To walk with you each day

You gave me living waters
When I was dying in the sand
You cried aloud with all your might
To reach up and take your hand

Lift up your eyes oh child of mine
And see the light from up above
Walk on my child through wind and rain
For you are covered by my love

So precious is the day
When first our hearts did meet
And precious is the saint
Who is found here at my feet

The time is coming very soon
So stand together side by side
And glorify the Living God
And let the Bridegroom take His bride.
