Broken pieces-broken people …….A poem for broken people

Posted by appolus on August 17, 2012

Broken pieces, broken people
Everywhere I go
How d’ya get to be so broken
It’s only God who knows

What d’ya have to listen to
In the early years
Pierced by many sorrows
filled with many tears

What d’ya have to witness
In the darkest night
Your soul it took in everything
despite your eyes shut tight

You’re ten thousand broken pieces
Which no one else can see
How ya gonna fix your soul
that’s longing to be free

All of the kings horses
And all of the kings men
Could not put the pieces back
back together again

You must gather up your pieces
and come before the throne
Kings and Princes cannot help
Your help’s in God alone

He will take what’s shattered
the pieces in His hand
He’ll undo all the sorrows
so you once more can stand

Now that which once was broken
and filled with many tears
stand’s whole before the throne of grace
despite the locust’s years

All the years the locust ate
He now restores to you
The darkness of the endless years
replaced with skies so blue

This is a lovely poem, Frank. And so true, too.
Nonetheless, I am still wondering at the 5th and the 6th stanza ๐Ÿ™„

Listen, whoever has ears to hear
Is reminded of a nursery rhyme, so dear
About an egg or a cannon, that’s not clear
I mean for us Germans, over here
    ๐Ÿ˜‰

    PS
I was very pleased about your kind reply yesterday. Thanks a lot!
It was interesting for me to read that you noticed many hits from Germany. Your observation raises my hope that I am not the only German believer finding herself in the Lord’s spiritual wilderness. In fact, since 1995 down to the present day, I have never met nor read about any German Christian being still alive and having been going through – not only roughly but at least similar – experiences.
Ha – stop!! I recall, though a few years ago since then, three women on TV who alluded to their mysterious relationship with God.
The first woman was surprised at the love of our Father AND Jesus [Who could ‘know’ (about) both unless Jesus revealed the Father to them? (Mt 11:27; 1 Jn 1:3)]. The second, a former model, was just newly enamoured of Jesus, and the third would sing about her ‘lover and King Jesus’.
Also, as for Christian blog sites in terms of the spiritual kingdom of God, Germany seems to me being a spiritual wasteland still. Therefore, I have written almost exclusively on English-speaking blogs for about two years now.
However, I am glad that I found your site where you share your spiritual life so openly, Frank. Impressive!

    Love,
    Susanne

Hi Susanne, thought you may like this link http://youtu.be/vB_4CAK9bb4 It’s the Broken Pieces song recorded. As far as the state of Christianity in Germany, it is very sad like most of Europe. I am part of a ministry called Gospel fellowships and we are attempting to connect like-minded believers around the world. We do have a contact in Germany, brother Thomas. If you go to this link http://gospelfellowships.net/ and then click on the find fellowship link, it will pull up a map. Go to Germany and click on the icon, it will give you an e-mail to contact the brother. Not sure where in Germany and I know its a large country, but he may know of believers in your area.

Do you Germans know the nursery rhyme ” Humpty Dumpty” ? ๐Ÿ™‚ ……………….bro Frank

Many thanks for the links, Frank.
The Broken Pieces song on youtube moved me to tears, it is anointed indeed.
Maybe, it is necessary to find oneself in the midst of broken pieces being crushed in the spirit until we finally cry for the Lord. If our lives had been that easy, would we ever have begun to search for the true meaning of life?

On the home page of Gospel Fellowships there is a short video in which, surprisingly to me, almost the same deliberations concerning believers in China I made, have been made too. However, shouldn’t I finally be used to a God who is full of surprises?
I found Thomas’ e-mail contact and I think I’ll write him shortly (DV – Jas 4:15). Honestly, I’ve abandoned making plans in favour of being led by His Spirit (Rom 8:14; Gal 5:18). That is not always enjoyable in the very beginning, but often quite funny when I recall the past day and must say, “Almost everything I thought would happen, didn’t, and what I couldn’t predict came to pass. Thus I think it was Your day, my Lord.”

I do not know whether Germans generally know “Humpty Dumpty”, statistically speaking, but at first I asked my hubby about it and he replied, “Yes, I think I remember it…” [Note: Paul was born and raised in Chicago, but came to Germany in 1969 when he was six years old.] Inquiring our daughter Sarah (16), she knew it quite well. I wondered, “Did you learn Humpty Dumpty at school?” – “No, you taught me at home,” she answered [I am giving private lessons; even Sarah couldn’t escape it ๐Ÿ˜‰ ].

        PS
I didn’t mean to turn out to be a ‘prophet’, but, in fact, as I have just been trying to check Thomas’ e-mail contact on the map, the following text surprised me:

“This is somewhat embarrassing, isnโ€™t it?
It seems we canโ€™t find what youโ€™re looking for. Perhaps searching can help.”

Hmm………….The Bible confirms that searching helps:

“For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” (Lk 11:10)

So, let’s have another try………………….Aha!! Typing “Thomas, Germany” into the search field did help. Thanks be to God. ๐Ÿ™‚

        Blessings and thanks again,
        Susanne

Dear sister, here is brother Thomas’s e-mail thomas@gospelfellowships.net. blessings to you and your family and may the Lord provide you with fellowship of a deep and lasting nature in His timing. It is good to be led by the Holy Spirit, I was glad that you were blessed by the song and I say amen to ” Maybe, it is necessary to find oneself in the midst of broken pieces being crushed in the spirit until we finally cry for the Lord. If our lives had been that easy, would we ever have begun to search for the true meaning of life?” ……….bro Frank
