Worn out Christendom- Steve Gallagher

Posted by appolus on August 8, 2012

I think most believers would agree that the Antichrist is alive at this very hour. Somewhere on our planet—probably in the European Commonwealth—he is living out his selfish existence; becoming increasingly swollen with pride; flattering and manipulating others into helping him fulfill the insatiable ambitions of his monstrous ego.

He took my stripes upon His back!

Posted by appolus on July 30, 2012

The flesh is a brutal thing and it certainly wars against the Spirit. In many situations I have been shocked to discover the depth of my own flesh. It makes me realize and know for a certainty that without Him I would plunge into the abyss. Thank you today Jesus for your unwarranted favor upon my life, I know what I deserve, I know for a certainly what i deserve even now and yet you have redeemed me and even when I am not faithful, you are.

Love of country is not the same as love of God

Posted by appolus on July 26, 2012

Hi saints. How many of us know that love of country is not the same as love for God? In America, we see a very unhealthy mixture of love of country, love of culture, love of history and love of beginnings with love of God. There can be no mixture. Wait Frank, are you saying that it is wrong to love one’s country? What I am saying brothers and sisters that there can be no competition for our affections. Jesus must have all of our heart, all of it. No matter where a saint lives, if it is difficult or if it is easy, when God calls us to leave it behind we must be ready to do that. In this day and age when it seems so clear that the Lord is coming, we must hold all things loosely, all things. He cannot have all of our heart if we do not hold all things in and of this world loosely.

Getting ready to fight the good fight?

Posted by appolus on July 18, 2012

Dear brothers and sisters, I pointed out in a previous post that the five virgins who ” went in,” were those who were found to be ready. What does it really mean to get ready. For the purposes of what i am writing, first of  all you would have to accept that there is a coming storm. If you lived in Florida and you knew there was a hurricane coming, would you go about business as usual? If for whatever reason, the President was coming to visit your house next week, would your house look the way it typically looks? Would you not prepare? If you knew your master was returning, would you not prepare? Of course you would have to believe that He was coming and coming soon.

Why the “Tea Party,” is un-Christian-Andrew Strom

Posted by appolus on July 13, 2012

I write this as a conservative evangelical Christian. I am anti-abortion
and hold all the usual ‘conservative’ views. But I have come to believe
that the Tea Party is one of the most misguided and misleading
movements in America – especially since it claims to be so “Christian”.

Who will stand in that day?

Posted by appolus on July 10, 2012

Hi Saints. The time is coming soon for the great separation that Jesus spoke of in the end times. In fact I believe that it is already in its beginning stages. Now what causes this great separation? How are sheep separated from goats? How are wheat separated from tares? How are the virgins with oil separated from those who have none? We see that in Mat 25:10 Jesus says “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.”

Posted by appolus on July 4, 2012

A couple of months ago we had a post about my friend’s son, Luke Long ,who was in a battle against cancer. Here is the testimony of what the Lord did and how He brought this family through the valley of the shadow of death  http://vimeo.com/45174565

The great persecution that is soon to come upon the Church

Posted by appolus on June 24, 2012

Hi Saints, I would like to speak about a subject that really has been the driving force behind much of what I have written in the last few years and this piece will be of no surprise to those who have read even a small amount of what I have written on this site. Obviously I am not of the pre-trib rapture position. And that is the last you will hear me mention any such phrases because I believe if we use certain phrases then we simply get pigeon- holed. Enough to say that I would soundly reject the very premise of the ” Left behind” series. We will go through the great tribulation and we will suffer and most of us who are alive at that time will be martyred.

The gathering storm.

Posted by appolus on June 14, 2012

Even as you read this, there is a gathering storm. The time is short and a great darkness is approaching. A darkness such has never been seen before. A great flood of evil approaches the gates of Zion, its thunderous noise not only shaking the city but shaking the whole world.

Rev 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water like a flood after the woman, so that he might cause her to be carried away by the river.

The remnant Church will soon face such a flood of evil as has never been seen before. It is time to prepare. We must gird up our hearts and our spirits in such a way as to be completely dependent upon the Lord. Indeed, that is why the Lord is conveying His people into the valley of Acacias, into the desert place, into that final place of gathering before the great and notable day of the Lord. Once before, the Lord carried His people on Eagles wings.

What is the church without a King?

Posted by appolus on June 6, 2012

O Lord your church goes through the motions
It travels many lands and crosses vast oceans
Yet what is a people with no King on the throne?
What is a man if he is all alone?

What is a song without any words?
What’s the point of the sky if there are no birds?
Can the fish in the sea swim without water?
Will the church ever listen to what you have taught her?

And yet you have promised to dwell in your people
You did not promise to dwell beneath a steeple
For the Zion you promised is this place in my heart
This was always your plan, right from the start

With my whole heart I cry out unto thee
I come before you on bended knee
Take this place, take my heart, take all that I am
Fill me with love like the mightiest dam

And with the power of this dam to generate love
Rend the heavens my Lord, flow down from above
And your Kingdom and glory shall ever be
Engulfed in this wonder, eternally

Who will walk the narrow path?

Posted by appolus on June 4, 2012

My little children, for whom I am again in the anguish of childbirth until Christ is formed in you. (Galatians 4:19 ESV)

T.A.Sparks writes………………..

The profaning of the Lord’s Name, and the taking away of His glory, is the inveterate habit and course of the old creation nature. Should you see any of the old creation getting into the realm of the things of God, what is the result sooner or later? That man takes the glory, and dishonors God. Is not that the tragic, dark story of “the Church”; man in his old creation powers and life pressing into the things of God, and making a name for himself? The Church has been the happy hunting ground of men for reputation, position, influence and all such things. The flesh always does that. It takes God’s glory away, it profanes God’s Name. In order that that might not be so there must be a new creation, where all things are of God…. I see the appalling state of things today amongst the Lord’s people everywhere; death, weakness, limitation, defeat, failure, inability to stand up, to go on; and, without being critical, censorious or judging, you have to come to the conclusion as you speak with so many, that the measure of Christ is pathetically small. Sometimes when you speak about the Lord to people, who have borne the name of Christian for many years, they gape at you as though you were talking a strange language.

Let us ask the Lord that, so far as we are concerned, there may be an increase of Christ in every way. Let us seek grace for any fiery furnace in the light of the explanation, that it is neither what is of Christ that is being tested in us, nor any good within ourselves, but that what is not Christ should disappear, that it should be Christ, only Christ. At last this universe will know nothing but Christ. He will fill all things, and that will be a great day! May He be fully formed in us.

Dark the shadows haunt the night

Posted by appolus on May 30, 2012

There are so many things that would cause us to walk in the darkness, in the shadows. Events and people from our past often have such a hold of us. Do you walk in the shadows? Does the shadow go before you? In order for a shadow to go before you then the sun must be at your back. If the Son is at your back then you must be walking away from the Lord, for when the Son is ever before us then the shadows lie behind us. To turn away from the Son, to even turn around and look is to see the shadow of what went before. In Christ, walking towards Him, ever closer as we walk this life, we leave the darkness behind us. Walk in and into the light, wrap yourself in the light of Christ and be free from the haunting shadows of the past. For it is God who said, “Out of darkness Light shall shine;” who shone in our hearts to give the brightness of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. (2Co 4:6)

Relentless Love

Posted by appolus on May 23, 2012

If you want to be blessed, watch this man’s short testimony on you-tube. The awesome power of a God that is still transforming lives, lives nobody else would care about, but the relentless love of Calvary that would pursue a man into the gutters and even to the gates of hell is beyond the natural understanding. I thank the Living God that He is no respecter of persons, that all men are equal in the eyes of God and that God will do great and mighty things with any soul, no matter what state, that will reach out and take a hold of Him…..bro Frank

The last Day Church-David Wilkerson

Posted by appolus on May 23, 2012

I believe God´s vision for His last-day church is based on His revealed Word-because the Bible clearly outlines what the church of Jesus Christ will be like just prior to His coming. Read the rest of this entry »

Are we on the brink of Apsotacy?

Posted by appolus on May 22, 2012

In every generation we see certain patterns in Christianity. Indeed these same patterns can be found in the Old Testament with the children of Israel. Time and again the children of Israel would re-discover the Word of God and the Spirit of God and they would pull down the high places and they would turn back to God? Are we living in such a time as that? Will this be one more cycle? Could this be last cycle?

Are we offended in Him? (W.E. Smith)

Posted by appolus on May 16, 2012

Blessed is the one who is not offended by Me. (Matthew 11:6 ESV)

Dear ones – the Lord never minces words does He? He never pretends things are different than they really are? There is a spirit-scraping-bone honesty about everything He did and said while on this earth. He desires truth in the inner-most being, deep down, and unlike religious men and the church by and large today, He is satisfied with nothing less.

In this age of hyphenated, small “c” Christianity, the deep, purposeful, emptying work of the cross, has not only been lost, it have become somewhat of an offense to so many who name His name. Paul travailed for these babes, until “Christ be formed in them.” We have made the gospel so much about self-affirmation (humanism in short), not what the Word reveals it to be –  self-negation. We have turned sanctification largely into a work of renovation rather what it truly is – demolition and the building up (the filling up unto fullness) of Christ in the empty shell that remains. He emptied Himself to come down and then He went willingly up to the cross of death to pour Himself out for us unto life, and He is the way; the pattern – so why is it different for us I wonder?

Unbroken sunshine leads to deserts

Posted by appolus on May 12, 2012

Luk 13:34 Jerusalem! Jerusalem! the one killing the prophets, and stoning those having been sent to her; how often I desired to gather your children in the way a hen gathers her brood under the wings, and you did not desire it.

How I long to look with optimistic eyes at the landscape of our Christianity here in the West. And yet the sands of time gather around our feet. For so long now we have desired to walk in unbroken sunshine not knowing that unbroken sunshine creates deserts. And now we look out upon the landscape and everything beautiful has dried up in the sun that we have demanded. Century by century the desert has encroached upon the green fields and mountains and valleys, slowly consuming everything. If it were not for rivers in the desert then we would have died of thirst already. If it were not for desert blooms then the all the color of life would be gone. There are precious few saints left who embrace the storm, who stand in the flood, who walk through the fire, who walk upon the water. Jesus weeps as He surveys the desert sands and the leanness of our souls. We have rejected the deep good soil of His sufferings and embraced the desires of our own hearts leaving behind something shallow, something easily dried up by the sun which we demand. And then this shallow thing turns to dust and is blown away by the wind, nothing grows and the desert comes.

Unbroken sunshine leads to deserts
And endless dunes across the soul
Yet the storms that blow from God above
Help make us whole, and that with love

For man will always take the path
Of least resistance to his flesh
He runs to pride and from the meek
To God confess, the humble seek

To walk with God is to walk through fire
And beds of coal beneath our feet
Through every mountain pass and valleys
And desert heat and darkened alleys

Unless the seed falls to the ground
And rain and storms have tilled the land
Then nothing grows and all is dead
No wheat shall stand, no one is fed

So embrace the storms and raging seas
And hail and snow and fallen trees
And fire and flood and rising tide
Will set you free, no more to hide

For if God is for me, I’ll walk in peace
And His grace on me shall never cease
To mold and shape and create in me
The landscape that you now can see

Violent Faith!

Posted by appolus on May 4, 2012

(By David Wikerson)
Genesis tells us that the more man multiplied on the earth, the more violent he became.

“The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth” (Genesis 6:11-12).

There is another, different kind of violence taking place in this last day. Indeed, I see a godly people with an aggressive faith being raised up. This holy remnant is full of Jesus, loving Him with all their hearts. These believers see a mad devil coming at them with everything in his power and they know they have more of hell to face than any other generation before them.

Jesus said: “The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” (Matthew 11:12). This remnant is going to rise up and say, “I’m not going to let the devil steal my joy and peace. I will not let him plant seeds of grudges, murder, hatred or violence in me. No! I’m going to rise up in Jesus’ power and live victoriously above this demonic filth.”

Dear saint, God wants to put a fight in you! If you have been guilty of any of these forms of violence, quickly repent before the Lord and obey His Word. That’s all He asks. May God put a holy zeal and faith in you beyond anything you have ever known. He wants you to be able to stand against Satan’s wicked devices.

The only spirit of violence we are going to have is a violent faith. It will be a strong, holy violence that comes full force against the gates of hell and the strongholds of the enemy. And, by the power of God, we will bring them all down in Jesus’ name!

Flee Babylon!

Posted by appolus on May 2, 2012

Will the American Christian lift his eyes from this world, from his best life now, and see a picture that spans the ages, from Adam to the anti-christ?. Lift up your eyes brothers and sisters and know that there is something unfolding. Will you cast your vote for an occultist because you are so entrenched in a system of the world? Is that how deeply entrenched the world is in your bones?
