Posted by appolus on July 4, 2012

A couple of months ago we had a post about my friend’s son, Luke Long ,who was in a battle against cancer. Here is the testimony of what the Lord did and how He brought this family through the valley of the shadow of death  http://vimeo.com/45174565

Oh my, oh my – my brother. How words fail. I wept and wept rivers of tears watching this. Oh that terrible place, full of death and dying and disease, and yet the Lord of All Life quickening that boy and his family and all they touched – Oh my – oh how great are His tender-mercies, how wonderful are His ways.

Oh Brian – I thought of my son Noah as I watched this, what if that was my son, would I loosen my grip on my Lord and God, would I shout at the heavens, would I wave my little pink fist at the God of All Life? I dare say I would.

My brother – this testimony, this living word, this living epistle written in your heart and life – oh my brother – this is a lifetime of sermons, oh praise the Lord for all of you!

This, precious ones, reduced down, boiled down, sifted through – is the gospel.

Everything the god of this age touches is death. The entire earth is cursed – disease, cancer, drought, barrenness, blight – yet in it all and through it all there is a tender Seed mightily planted, and this Seed will grow unto glorious life (a mighty Tree of Life), and fill all things. He will put all this death under His feet. He will fill all things starting with His blessed church – His body, His temple, His branches.

Oh Lord we bow down before Thee! We are unworthy of Thee Oh Lord. Our works are dust and sand! Our words are even less than that. Oh Lord, fill all things, fill us Oh Lord – fill us with your very Life! Live and move and be in us oh Lord! Be our beginning and end, the author and finisher of everything.

And take everything out of us that is not You, however much it stings and hurts and drives us to our knees.

Oh Lord, thank you for this indescribable blessing, for this precious family, for their beautiful son, for their faith has has quickened my heart and encouraged my faith, and made my love for You new again.

“Be our everything Oh Lord Jesus!” Amen brother Wayne. It is clear from the lives of the Lord’s saints that His word is true and that He never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is our help, He is our life, He is our very sanity. We walk aways from that and we die, we walk away from that and we have no help or hope in this world, we walk away from that and we lose our minds. As the old song goes ” where could I go but to the Lord.” Where else Lord could we turn for you have the Words of life, you are life itself. In you is light and that light is our very life. Let us forever be light that speaks to darkness. Let us always remember that there is life and power in light and yet darkness is merely the absence of light, let us thereore walk in the light of our Lord and Saviour Jesus. We thank you for the light of life that is in young Luke and for the testimony of your faithfulness to the Long family. Yes the valley was long and dark and the deepest parts of the valley were very sore, yet in all of it you overshadowed them. You said to them that you were the Rock and that they were to come up higher and in that they found life and not death because they found you in all of it Lord. Lord may we find you in all of it Jesus. Even the darkness is light to you Lord, you can come to hell itself and you can take us up from our beds of sorrow and hopelessness because in you alone we have our hope, in and of ourselves we have nothing. It takes walking through the fires to burn away any notion that beside you Lord we are lost and without hope. Yet Lord, when we yield to the valley and simply lift up our eyes, then we see our help and we see where it comes from……………….brother Frank

Dear brother Luke, brother Brian and family; My wife and I have just watched
your video of what you have been through in the last several months. Dear young
man we praise the Lord with our whole hearts and souls that you and your family
have been so faithful and so transparent in allowing us to see and experience
with you your suffering and your faithfulness. Dear Luke, know that you have
gone through all this yes for your own sake and testing and finally glory but
also for us and the entire Body of Christ. Your trilal and faithfulness is
giving us all LIFE , yes LIFE and a spiritual blessing and confirmation that
this God we serve is true, real and loves us more than we will ever know. You
have dying that we may live and have life. Thank you from the bottom of our
hearts and whether you realze it or not, you have been a true martyr and witness
of what our living God is and can do when we remain faithful as you have even in
    the severest of times.
You do not know us and we do not know you at all and we will perhaps never meet
here on this earh but dera Long family, we are truly linked and bound in the
spirit and by the Holy Spirit as your sufferings are ours and ours are yours and
our prayers are yet with you all as we ask for yours for us. I too have cancer
dear Luke but it has been quiet now for over three years BUT only the Lord knows
when it may come again as did yours. BUt when and if it does, I will reply your
video many a time to remind me that even as young as you are in earthly years
that does not matter one iota in the spiritual realm. What matters is your and
your family’s faithfulness and your witness and testimony in the deepest trials.
The Lord God continue to be with you all as we will continue to seek His Face on
your behalf as we ask you to do the same to us two lonely Christ seeking saints.
We refuse to compromise here in Europe, this dark dark continenet stuck in the
past even its glorious past of the Reformation. But to be connected even if it
be by internet and have the privelege to see and experience with you your love
of Christ is truly uplifting in a day when Christianity has sunk to the lowest
and meanest of wordliness. Praise Him forever and ever and be strong dear Luke
and overcome this illness in the love and light of Christ, Yours in Christ from
Switzerland, Dominic and Susanna Fischer. Dear Frank, greetings in Christ also
to you and thank you for your faithfulness in posting all this. I will still
call you one of these days and we can have a longer time over the phone or
Skype. The Lord is coming dear brother and may He prepare us for the coming woe
and horror. Every small tribulation, test and trial of pain, lonliness,
rejection, hatred, ridicule, etc is meant to prepare us for the great
tribulation which is coming upon this whole inhabited earth.

    Dear Brother Frank,
Please send my email re: alternative therapies to Luke & his family. The Lord wants us to be well, His way, & not to have the “fear of man” re: the doctors who are schooled in the medical field as though they are gods. We are to look for God’s way & use what He has given us without the drugs as much as it is possible. Dr. Burzinski has been used of the Lord as well as the Hoxsey protocol for many years & people are healed. Please check the Videos for hoxsey cancer cure & pass this email onto to Luke & his family as well.
    In His Name, Donna

HI Donna, thank you for your kindness and your interest. Obviously Brian and his family are on the other side of this and it was a extremly hard and arduous path. Luke is in remission and they are praising God for that. They did have many kind people suggest alternative treatments as they went through this and I am pretty sure they will be glad to see all doctors in their rear-view mirror 🙂 If Brian and Martha wanted to go down that path I would definately pass on that information. Thanks again Donna and amy the Lord bless you………………bro Frank

    dear Brother Frank,
I ask you to at least send the Long’s my two emails so that they may decide. It looks like our Lord IS trying to reach them to find a way to LIFE instead of death. The protocol from the medical field, AMA, is treatment, remission & then treatment & remission & eventually death…What unnecessary suffering; we have enough suffering on this earth without adding to it. Please do not withhold the information I have sent to you to share w/ them. I don’t think that is your decision to make…Thank you, Donna

      HI Donna,

I am not sure if you watched the video or not, but the Lord has taken Luke through already, he is healed sister and we are praising the Lord for His healing. Luke has found life and the Lord was with them all as they went through the darkness of death. He just returned home to Oklahoma from St Lukes in Memphis, they were gone for two months and they will celebrate the healing of Luke at their church on Sunday, we are all praising God for what He did ………………….bro Frank

  5. W.E. Smith said

And He stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately the leprosy left him. (Luke 5:13)

And a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped. And Jesus said, “Who is the one who touched Me?” (Luke 8:43)

When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”

“O unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment. (Matt 17)

Dear saints – leprosy, cancer, disease, demonism – it is all death. It is the fallen world dying. It is the life of Adam that remains – the grim legacy of sin and curse and death. It is in the very cells and molecules of all of us. We pass it on to our precious children, all the while the god of death smiles.

Yet there is one, and only one who touches death. He reaches out and touches it, for He is willing and He alone is able. He touched death in the leper and His life flowed out of Him. The woman with internal bleeding touched Him and the life flowed out of Him. He touched Luke and life, abundant life flowed out of Him into the boy!

Rejoice Ye His saints – for Life has come amongst us in this cursed graveyard we call this world.

Where, where I say is the power and the life in His people? Why are we so dead and listless. Why do we not send the demons and death running by the very life that is in us?

    “O unbelieving and perverse generation,”

Spoken to his own, dear saints – spoken to His own – to you and to me.

Has He changed? Does He not want to manifest His power and life in the darkness and death of this world?

Where it the light and power and life in His people while all the world sinks into even greater death and depravity. Did He not say after He ascended that we would do greater things than He did? Then where I ask are they? What on earth happened? He changes not and remains faithful, so it must be us. IT MUST BE US!

Let me declare ever-so plainly that if so many of us did not actually love this dying world more than we love the Lord then things might not be so deplorable. We embrace death rather than life. We shrink back from, and even enjoy the darkness. We are riddled with unbelief, and our puny lives are merely evidence of our puny faith.

Let us repent dear saints and pray for a quickening of our hearts unto the Lord.

We can be encouraged by His great love and power and mercy toward Luke but let us not be content with that. The world is waiting. The Lord is ready and willing to shine in our hearts, to make us instruments of life, of His mighty saving, quickening power.

  6. appolus said

Amen brother Wayne, it is indeed always us. If there is any problem in Christendom, it is certainly not our God. I have always used that as a rule of thumb and it gives me a proper perspective I believe. There is a love for this world deep in the heart of men, we have lost our eternal perspective. Oh for a generation of saints who would rise up with eyes wide open, spiritual eyes, eyes that have seen the King. Eyes that have seen the throne, eyes that have glimpsed eternity, eyes that have looked upon heavenly things, eyes that no longer look upon the things of this world which dwell in the dimness. Eyes that are bright with the light and the power of His life………………….bro Frank

  7. W.E. Smith said

Bro. Frank – yes you are right – we have seen too much. Why could Peter not return to his old life? Because He had seen too much; he had tasted the Lord. Here, saints, is what he looks like – Behold our King, the Living One who holds the keys of death and Hades –

I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man,[d] dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. 16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

… and so how great is our God – Oh that we would see Him personally, be forever changed by what we see. John fell to the ground as though dead, yet today we seem not to have any fear of Him at all. We sings love songs to Him but we don’t tremble in His presence. We don’t seem to care that these same eyes of fire are now measuring each and every one of us.

Dear brother – I will start with myself, and end with myself – pray that I would fear this Lord, tremble in His presence, walk only in the life that He gives. Pray that all that resists Him in me will be burned away, by whatever it takes, whatever loss or pain or affliction. For I am the least and the last, and He deserves so much better than I.

Oh Lord – touch us with Your Life Oh Lord – touch us like you touched this lad and his family. Reach out and touch us that we will never be the same again, And show us Thyself Oh King! Show us Thy majesty and glory, and may we shudder in Your Holy Presence! Show us Thyself lifted up above this dying realm, above all that the stink and filth and rot of men and devils and this cursed world.

Oh Lord, we are dirty, so dirty Lord, so much in need of Thy cleansing blood. Purge us Oh Lord of all that isn’t Thee Oh Lord, all that is less than Thee.

Show us Thy need Oh Lord, how utterly empty we are without Thee. Whatever it takes Oh Lord – let us lay down our lives unto death, even the death and mortification of Thy cross oh Lord. Shake this world out of us, Shake it all Lord, shake it with Thy mighty thunders Oh Lord so that our only ground is Thee!

Saints of the Lord – hear me please – if you are not willing to go all the way with Jesus the Christ, then go back now. If you have never been taught what the cost is for following Him, that it is in fact your very life – then now you know. Count the cost then decide. Just decide deep in the very bowels of your being – make a decision. And then never turn back. never even look back – at all that you will lose for Him.

For dear ones – to gain this Christ is everything. He is everything! The pearl, the treasure, the gold and the glory.

Oh we believe Oh Lord, help our unbelief. Yes we are a perverse and unbelieving generation, but help us Oh Lord.

May Luke’s story something in all of us; may it awaken all that sleeps and may it expose all that is hidden in our hearts.

Go out saints of God, for the bread is on the ground – He is waiting. He is new every morning! Take Him into your mouth and live. Drink deep from the fountain that is our Savior and our King!

For to live is Christ and to die is gain!

Brother Wayne writes…………….. “For dear ones – to gain this Christ is everything. He is everything! The pearl, the treasure, the gold and the glory” Yes indeed brother, yes indeed. Consider this Scripture brothers and sisters…………………

    Mal 3:2-4
    (2) But who can endure the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire, and like fuller’s soap.
    (3) And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. And He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may be offerers of a food offering in righteousness to Jehovah.
    (4) Then the food offering of Judah and Jerusalem shall be pleasing to Jehovah, as in the days of old and as in former years.

This is a prophecy written by Malachi for the saints of the last days. Have you experienced the refiners fire? Has your life been purified in this manner? Can you see that it is the sons of Levi, the priest that are purified? We are priests in a royal priesthood brothers and sisters, can you cry out to God ” Whatever it takes?” In all of Scripture we are called upon to seek the Lord with our whole hearts, our whole hearts. Now is the day, now is the time to do just that, with your whole hearts brothers and sisters. He is raising up a generation of believers and He is taking them through the waters and the fires and the deserts. Yet brothers and sisters, He will be there when you pass through the waters, He will be with you in the midst of the fire and He will minister to you in the desert. He will do all of these things to those who yield their hearts and souls to Him alone. The Long family know this well. They had to yield to God the greatest treasure in this world, their first born son. And in this yielding they found victory, victory in Jesus. They were fed in the desert, they did not drown and they walked through the fire with the Lord at their side. You see what the Lord can do with a yielded life? For those who decide to lose their lives find life. Can you see the paradox? True joy and revelation comes inside the fire, it comes in the midst of the water, it comes in the heat of the desert. It is the exact opposite of the worlds wisdom. In order to be truly rich we must face losing everything and yield to it. Only then can we be rich in the mercies of Jesus. Only in the fire can we truly see, only as the floods encompass around can we truly feel the hand that lays hold of us and pulls us up higher, only in the desert, in the hunger and the thirst of the desert, can we truly appreciate manna from heaven and water from the Rock. Jesus is our heavenly manna that does not just feed for a day but once tasted it lasts for all eterntiy. Jesus is our Rock from which the waters of life are received and once we have drunk from those heavenly waters then all other water is foul tasting to us. Call out to HIm today and let your cry be ” whatever it takes!”

Saints, I would highly recommend brother Wayne’s book ” The Prophetic Urgency.” As anyone who reads this site regularly knows, I very rarely recommend books, but I believe that brother Wayne’s book is a word from the Lord for this time and season. And I know personally that he has paid an awe-ful cost for being faithful to the Lord. You can find his book here……………..
