Nationalism, Patriotism and Politics-Idolatry or God’s Way?

NATIONALISM, PATRIOTISM and POLITICS -IDOLATRY or GOD’s WAY? -by Rick Frueh.
I remain simply astounded at the response to my posts on nationalism, patriotism, and idolatry. I am convinced the Spirit is actively doing a work of grace in many, many hearts. Just so everyone knows where I am in my journey I want to share. But do not think that your perspective has to mirror mine, or that you will be bullied if you are in a different place. But it would be edifying for brothers and sisters to sharpen each otherยดs iron.

Poems in one place

Posted by appolus on March 25, 2012

I decided that I should put all of my poems in one place so here goesย  http://www.poemhunter.com/frank-mceleny/ย I still have about another 100 to put on there. The Lord commissioned me to write a poem for every Psalm, so at the above link you will find them there as well, well, at least 1-45. I have written them all but Iย am still workingย to type up the rest, so it will be updated frequently until my three fingered typing gets it done ๐Ÿ™‚ May they bless you, and may the Psalm poems bless you too. They were written in one of the toughest periods of my walk with the Lord. No surprise at the Lord’s timing in asking me to do this…………. bro Frank

Prophecy comes out of the desert

Posted by appolus on March 24, 2012

The uniqueness of Christianity is found when they are persecuted. This willingness to lose one’s life, lose one’s reputation, home, family , job , only really comes to the fore when that is tested. Think about the Gospel of John in chapter three. It talks about being born again and the necessity of believing in God and the one that He sent, Jesus His Son. Now that word, believe, is , in my mind, the weakest of all the translated words in the Bible. Its a semantical nightmare trying to chart a course through what most people believe the word ‘ believe,” to mean. In the context of that given word in John, it meant ” to trust with one’s life.” You see, when it was spoken , to ” believe,” in Jesus as the messiah was to be totally and immediately ostracized from the community. It meant the giving up your culture and the religion that you had held for 2000 years. It also meant that Christ came into your life, not semantically, but actually, and behold a new creature stepped forth.

Poems for the Weary

Posted by appolus on March 22, 2012

Weariness is a dreadful thing. The definition of weariness is……..

“physically or mentally fatigued, having one’s interest, forbearance, or indulgence worn out.”

Oftentimes Christians do not want to admit to weariness. It may seem like a lack of faith to acknowledge one’s weariness. Of course this is not the case. Every Christian will walk through all the seasons of life and will experience every facet of life, he will be immune from none. Yet, as in all things, we are not defined by one season of our lives, nor are we defined by individual incidents in our lives, aren’tย you glad about that? We shall beย knownย by the thrust of our lives. It’s notย about falling down, you will fall down, it’s about getting back up. Who amongst you believe that you will not fall down in this life? Idealists and younger Christians are particularly vulnerable when they fall. It’s a very humbling thing to fall down. Gal 6:9-10………..

Christianity vs Churchianity

Posted by appolus on March 20, 2012

The piece below is the kind of fearless voice that we need to hear in our own times because it seems that we are in this same position again. We had many moves of God in the last century and for that I praise God, but we have also seen the rise of the seducers and the false prophets in recent decades. Its not a surprise that the enemy would not sit idly by and allow the victories of the Welsh revival, the Pentecostal revival, the Hebridean revival or the moves of God amongst the hippies of the 60s and 70s to go unanswered.

Right alongside these moves came the rise once again of cheap grace. Movements like the Word of Faith, name it and claim it and unscriptural charismania are often easy to see and discern because they fall so far outside the realms of Scripture. Yet cheap grace is an insidious cancer that lulls its adherents to sleep and allows the world to mock their worldliness and rest easy because they see them as no different from themselves.

“They assume that the Church is an ark of safety; and once ensconced within her enclosures, all further anxiety ends. Let us try to unmask this dreadful delusion of the devil.” (AA Phelps, 1883) ย

This above statement would also apply to those who came forward and signed on the dotted line. To those who lined up and signed up for fire insurance. Their ” ark of safety,” would be the their profession of faith. By merely giving mental assent to a few abstract truths, by saying yeah to points one through five, then all anxiety ends for they are now ” saved.” May, for their very souls sake, the Lord unmask this dreadful delusion before He returns-Frank McEleny

God have mercy, send us Prophets!

Posted by appolus on March 20, 2012

Leonard Ravenhill : Picture of a Prophet
The prophet in his day is fully accepted of God and totally rejected by men.

Years back, Dr. Gregory Mantle was right when he said, “No man can be fully accepted until he is totally rejected.” The prophet of the Lord is aware of both these experiences. They are his “brand name.”

Prophecy from 1965

Posted by appolus on March 17, 2012

Time and again the Lord has laid it upon my heart that there is a revival coming, but perhaps a better word for this revival would be a ” preparation.” I believe and have shared many times that I believe the Lord is gathering His people together, separatingย them and taking them through a desert experience. At the end of this desert experience I believe we will come out with a living word for the world, just as John the Baptist came out of the desert and proclaimed ” Behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world!, ” we will come out and proclaim, with power, the imminent return of the Lord and we will call a world, under conviction, to ” Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committedย and get yourself a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die O house of Israel. For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies says the Lord God.THEREFORE TURN AND LIVE!(Ezeย 18:31-32)This message we will present to Christendom-Frank McEleny-ย The prophecy below is from Stanley Frodsham…….

100 Year old Prophecy

Posted by appolus on March 15, 2012

My own note would add that when this next great revival happens, I believe that it will be accompanied with severe persecution. It will be a time such as has never been seen before, a time when the enemy comes at the Lord’s church with everything that he has in an attempt to once and for all eradicate it. Yet be of good cheer brothers and sisters, the Lord has overcome the world. Greater is He that is within you that He that is in the world. The Lord equips those that He calls. His grace will be sufficiant for us as we pass through the waters of afflcition and the fires of hell that will come against us. The gates of hell shall not prevail against the Lords church-Frank McEleny

Sodom rises from the ashes!

Posted by appolus on March 13, 2012

As the curtain begins to fall on human history, we can see the poisonย of sin truly fester as open sores. The healing balm of Christianity loses its power as it becomes pollutedย by the very poisonย it sought to heal. When judgment falls, it falls first upon the church. When the rain is with-held then the land becomes parched and dry and made ready as tinder for the fire to fall. The terebinth leaves begin to fade because the garden has no water.

Have you ever been broken down?

Posted by appolus on March 7, 2012

Have you ever been broken down? Have you ever been totally defeated in this life? It could have been before coming to Christ, it could have happened to you after coming to Christ, but whenever it happened it left you for dead, it left you weeping. It robbed you of your song in the night, it silenced your praise, it left you hopeless for a time. It left you feeling that there was no way ahead, that everything that you ever had was lost? Inside you seemed to feel nothing.

Psalms and Poems and spiritual things (Psalm 139)

Posted by appolus on March 4, 2012

Hi Saints, as some may know, the Lord asked me to write a poem for every Psalm. As I contemplated what the Lord had asked me to do, it was a little daunting, but by HIs grace I am approaching the end, I am at Psalm 145. As I went along the Lord opened up to me what He was wanting from me. What I was bringing to the poem was the experience of a New Covenant Christian. So much of the psalms, more that I thought when I got down to it, was about justice, crying out for justice, crying out for vengeanceย against enemies and so on.

What is justice? On Christ the solid Rock I stand!

Posted by appolus on March 1, 2012

This linkย ย http://www.box.com/shared/6dc0jj6eaoย is a recording made in 2010 from a Tuesday night prayer meeting that we have. It explores the meaning of justice, what does it mean, what does it take to forgive our enemies? How many times? Should we pursue justice? Deep questions, hard answers and lessons. The first 30 minutes is the message.

Can the world hear your hammer? I feel the rain!

Posted by appolus on February 29, 2012

A dear brother used a phrase recently that kinda caught my attention. He wanted to know if we could hear the sound of the hammer blows as Noah built the ark. The sound of the hammer was undoubtedly the sound of salvation and the sound of judgment.

Can you lay down in the boat?

Posted by appolus on February 24, 2012

Just a couple of years after coming to Jesus I was diagnosed with a disease that was supposed to kill me. It was the best thing thatย  could have happened to me. Right there, as a young Christian, I discovered that the steps of a righteous man are ordered of God. It became one of my life Scriptures, the depths of it were emblazoned on my heart. The truth is that we leave this planet when the Lord deems it. There is no power in heaven or earth that can override our God. If He wants to take us home He will take us home, if He does not then here we stay until He calls us away. There is great rest in this.

Those who sow in tears

Posted by appolus on February 17, 2012

Psalm 126, like many other psalms, describes in part, the joy of the returning exiles from captivity in Babylon to Jerusalem.ย  Try for a moment to put yourself in the place of an Israelite. He sees his country invaded and destroyed. He sees the centerpiece of all that is holy to them, the temple, destroyed. Then he is loaded up and carried away in chains. He looks back only once and sees the smoke of destruction still ascending to the very heavens which seem to have abandoned him.

The benefits of His manifest Presence

Posted by appolus on February 10, 2012

To know Jesus is to encounter Him. Now this encounter can come in a thousand different ways. It can come in dreams and visions, quite rare in my experience. It can come in alone times of prayer, this is most common for myself. It can come corporately, relatively rare nowadays I would say. This manifest presence, this shekinah, this felt presence, always leads to changes in our lives.

The Rock that is higher than I

Posted by appolus on February 8, 2012

It’s veryย dangerous to elevate men. It happens time and again in Christianity where men are revered, relied uponย for doctrine and answers to every question. It is not only dangerous I believe, but sinful and harmful. Every single Christian must be grounded first and foremost on the solid Rock of Jesus Christ and led by the Holy Spirit alone. Once this is established, then other mens opinions and teachings can be considered in the light of your own revelation and illuminations from God and from His word.

I am rich in the mercies of Jesus

Posted by appolus on February 2, 2012

As many may know, the Lord asked me several months ago to write a poem for every Psalm. This was and is a daunting task. I believe that the Lord asked me to do this last year because last year was one of the toughest years of my Christian walk where I got to walk through the deepest and darkest valley yet. And because of that, the Psalms touched my raw spirit in ways that only the Psalms can. For Christians, victories are won in the depths of the valley and strongholds are broken down. This is where the fight is taken to the enemy. This place is his dark domain. This is a place that we would never voluntarily come to. We would never come to this place willingly. Yet this place is where we see the gates of bronze broken down and the bars of iron cut in two. Below are the last few poems that I have written, I am up to Psalm 114. May they bless you………………

You ride upon Chariots of Fire

Posted by appolus on January 24, 2012

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. (Gen 1:2-5)
