To live beyond the edge of hope
Is to dangle daily from a rope
In a perpetual dance with death itself
Beyond this world and all its wealth
There is a world of blue and green
But to the dark eye its all unseen
A world of orange, red and yellow too
But from the rope its beyond all view
For from the rope there’s shades of grey
And sleepless nights and endless days
And every now and then some light
But just enough to confirm the night
There was a time I dangled from this rope
At the edge of hell and beyond all hope
I lived my life, just hanging there
Crushed and broken, suspended in the air
Then Jesus came and cut me down
He raised me up to wear a crown
A pauper raised to walk with kings
A voicless man but now who sings
Of all the glories of the Lord
Who came with Word and deed and sword
And conquered hell and death and sin
Restoring joy and hope within
Now all the world is bright to me
No matter what my eyes can see
No longer dangling from the rope
I walk with Jesus, I walk with hope
And above the clouds I know its true
The sun shines bright and the sky is blue
And when a shaft of light appears
It warms my heart and quells my fears
Now if your dangling from that rope
And this lie cries out, “there is no hope”
Cry out to the one who can cut you down
He will raise you up and you will wear a crown!
Many Christians around the world believe that the Lord is coming soon.Β Its a major tenet of Christianity to believe that the Lord is coming back and before He does the earth will be ravaged by many things. It is commonly called the beginning of sorrows, and Jesus teaches us these things from Matt 24. Its when we see all of these things happening together that I believe we can say that we have genuinely entered the period of ‘ the beginning of sorrows.”Β Indeed we should be able to discern the signs of the times.Β It seems that everything that can be shaken is being shaken, whether its in the desert sands, or on the sea floor or on the land. Politically, economically, naturally, everything is being shaken, and you can rest assured that it comes from the hand of God.Β
After the drought comes the rain. Perhaps you feel like your in a drought? Perhaps its been a long time since you encountered the presence of God? For those who believe and prevail and overcome, can I tell you that there is a cloud , the size of a hand, on the horizon. There is a deep penetrating rain coming for Gods people. He has taken His people into the valley, the valley of death, the valley of decision. Because of the intensity of the battle that lies just ahead, it was and is necessary for the Lord to take His people into the desert of testing, a place of scourging and stripping away of every single thing that we have relied upon that is outside of Him. Is it just me or do we not sing songs of victory any more? There is so much joy in declaring the victory of Jesus. I think it will be hard for you to read the hymns below and not touch some of the glory of God. There was a time when the people of Israel were in a bad place and their enemies taunted them……
There we sat down by the rivers of Babylon; also, we wept when we remembered Zion. We hung our lyres on the willows in its midst. For there our captors demanded a song from us; and our plunderers demanded gladness, saying, Sing us oneof the songs of Zion.Β (psa 137:1-3)Β Oh the power that we now have through our Lord Jesus Christ, to turn right around to the enemy and begin to sing the glories of the living God in the very midst of our circumstances. We will not hang ourΒ harps upon the willow trees, meaning that we lay down the means by which we praise God. With the high praises of God in our mouths we shall march onward unto cannan land, whether that march leads us down the narrow path or the darkest valley, we shall fear no evil!
The desert sand is shifting, the mountain rocks are melting, the sea-beds are deepening, the whole earth is groaning and travailing and man sets his targets on change. My people, set your focus on Me, for I will set My Son upon the clouds and He will come as the fulfilment of all things. Is evangelicalism the newest form of “Religion”? Perhaps its always been a religion? Or perhaps it morphed into religion? Whatever the case, it is clear that it is truly a sub-culture. Genuine Christianity has always been a counter-culture. Right from the beginning, those who had encountered God were radically transformed. What they had may not have been perfect, but they were never accused of looking like the world. The world knew who they were, they always knew who they were. They were a ” peculiar,” people. They were out of step with the world. They ran counter to the culture.Β
A lot of people probably read some of the writings on this website and
wonder, βWhere is all this headed? What is the goal?β A glib answer might
be- βWe want to get back to real βNew Testamentβ Christianity.β But what
exactly does that look like?
If you say that you are a Christian and you have not entered His rest what does that profit anyone? If the writer of Hebrews compares Christendom with the Israelites in the desert ,who do not believe and trust in God and therefore choose to wander and die in the desert, what does that say to us?Is it possible that we could have escaped Egypt, the world, only to die in the wilderness because ultimately we do not trust God? We will not have had the fullness of the Spiritβs outpouring until
baptized people separate themselves completely from the world.
We must emphasize separation and purity of heart. The purpose
of the Spiritβs coming is to sanctify and prepare a people for the
Lordβs return, a people without spot or wrinkle.
Saints, I am convinced that there is a mighty battle going on right now, even as we speak. I believe that this battle will soon overflow from the spiritual realm into this physical realm. And we know from Scripture that our battle is against principalities and powers, against the worlds rulers, against the darkness of this age and against spiritual wickedness in high places. (eph 6:12) I am convinced that theΒ saints that have been called to pray and intercede are experiencing trials and tribulations like never before because of this very battle. It may be in the mind and it may have physical manifestations or probably both. Now is the time for steadfastness. Now is the time to prevail and overcome. Now is not the time to shrink back although the flesh may cry out for that.
Perhaps you find yourself in a solitary place today because of words spoken against you? Unjust, hurtful words, hateful words, things that are simply not true. Perhaps circumstances or tragedies have driven you to a place or darkness and desolation? David said that his enemies had prepared a net for his steps and had dug a pit in front of him (Psalm 57:6) and that his soul was “bowed down.”We see that David got tangled up in that net and fell headfirst into the pit. Perhaps you too have been tripped up in your walk and have fallen head first into the pit and find yourself in a similar darkness as King David? Read the rest of this entry »
Hi Saints, below is a dream a Canadian brother (in blue text) had. Please read and know that the Lord, I believe, is intensifying His call on His people. There is a prepartion taking place and it is, to say the least, intense. Trials and tribulations are increasing in saints around the world. There is a battle that is taking place in the unseen. When Daniel mourns in chapter 10, it is believed that he is mourning the indifference of his people and the fact that even although they were in a position to return home from their captivity, so many had decided to remain in their captive state.Β So much of Christendom is now livingΒ a Babylonian lifestyle, and yet there is yet opportunity to retun from exile. The time is short, but the opportunity still remains. Dan 10:12 Then he said to me, Do not fear, Daniel; for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to chasten yourself before your God, your words were heard. And I have come for your words.Β God hears the prayers and the cries of His mourning Remnant, even now as we pray and cry out there is an unseen battle taking place. We already know that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principlaities and powers, against the worlds rulers of darkness of this age and against spiritual wickedness in high places. The battle is taking place even as we speak, this is the time that was revealed to Daniel. Very soon the battle will break onto the physical plane and this is why we are being prepared with such intensity, to prepare us for what shortly lies ahead. Read the rest of this entry »
Perhaps today you are feeling the weight and the burden of a lost loved one? Can I encourage you to stay in the light, stay near to Him. This light that is in you is the only hope for those that are lost to the darkness of this world. Let your love be a city set upon a hill. Let that light of hope and glory be a beacon to all who are lost. For if the light that is in you goes out, what hope for the lost?
The Most High does not dwell in Temples made with hands.β God was not behind the veil, hidden and inaccessible to man, look!!!!!! The presence of God was hung high upon a tree , humbled and naked for all the world to see. The presence of God is Jesus and Jesus is the door to His people and the door leads directly into the holy of holyβs, Gods own throne-room where Jesus stands at the right hand of the Father. The brother that delivered this message is one of my best friends and is a passionate man of God. We will be having a series of meetings next month in Oklahoma, in a small town called Barnsdall. If the Lord leads, please join us there. The meetings will run from the 14th to the 19th. We will start the day with a prayer meeting and then go out onto the streets. We will have a service every evening in the old cinema downtown Barnsdall starting at 7pm.
He was gazing at the God that they did not even know. He proclaimed that he saw the Glory of God and that his eyes had seen the King of Glory, Jesus, standing at the right hand of God. And with this, they finally killed him, not being able to stand it any longer.
Last week my mother gave her testimony on our prayer conference call. What I like about the way that she gives her testimony is that she sticks to giving Jesus the glory. She actually suffered much violence and persecution for the name of Jesus, but it would be har to tell that from her testimony. You can hear it her , it starts about the 8.30 mark click here ->My mothers testimony.Β You can read more about her testimony at
Here is a recording from our prayer meeting on Tuesday, the 6th of October. My good friend and brother, Pastor Brian Long led out with a message that is powerful and profound.
