When the Tares overwhelm the Wheat!

Posted by appolus on March 31, 2015

taresThen the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him. The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret. (Dan 2:46-47)

In this passage we can see that even the mightiest of Kings fell down on his face when he came face to face with the reality that God is the revealer of the secrets of mens hearts. Earlier in the chapter the wise men and magicians complained that there was no power on earth that could reveal the secrets of a man’s heart or his dreams or thoughts. When Jesus encounters the woman at the well He reveals the secrets of her heart. She is so utterly astonished that she rushes into town and publicly announces to everyone that she had encountered the Messiah and He had told her everything that she had ever done. They come, encounter Him and believe.

In 1 Corinthians 14:24:25 it says “But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.” The power of God brothers and sisters, just one aspect of the power of God in a living breathing entity called the Body of Christ. It demonstrates itself and it manifests itself in power, resurrection power. A life transformed and moving in the power of God touches the hearts of men. It changes them, it challenges them, it confronts them it penetrates deep into the hearts of men, it ” stabs men in the hearts.” In Acts chapter two men were so violently assaulted in their hearts by the Truth spoken by the power of God that they cried out to God ” what must we do.”

Brothers and sisters are we seeing the power of God demonstrated in the average church today? Are men so busily chasing after signs and wonders that they have neglected all together the mightiest of all powers, the power of God to violently assault the hearts of men? Are men so caught up in their learning and the correctness of their particular doctrines that they refuse to even acknowledge that such a power exists outside of the abstract? The power of God to radically transform a soul is the essence of what it means to be a witness. The very lives of the transformed saints, the work of God Himself in the hearts of men for His will and for His good pleasure is the primary witness of the Church. It is radically transformed saints that make up the Body of Christ, His Church here on earth. It is a witness to His power.

If mighty kings fall down on their faces merely because the God of all ages reveals a dream to them, what does it say to principalities and powers when sinners are transformed into saints? When former drunks now live soberly glorifying the God of the transformed heart. When those who robbed and stole rob and steal no more but live peaceably glorifying God among men. When those who followed the selfish dictates of their own hearts without regard to others now live sacrificial lives to the glory of God. When those who followed man-made gods and idols now follow and glorify the one true God. When blasphemers and those who persecuted God’s saints now fall down on their faces with reverence to the most Holy God and love their brothers and sisters in Christ. When former violent men become as gentle as lambs. When fornicator and adulterers find forgiveness and walk chaste holy lives. When prostitutes are reborn as virgins and are now found at the feet of Jesus. This is the Body of Christ. This is His witness here on earth. As it was then so it is now and so shall it ever be until that great and notable day of the Lord.

What is the crisis of this age? A lack of power demonstrated in the lives of men in the average gathering of what we call church. Churches across the land filled with half dead men and lukewarm souls at best. Churches that are nothing more than glorified social clubs, political clubs, middle class country clubs where homogeneous groups gather to carry out religious activities. Is it any wonder that the world has great difficulty telling themselves apart from the average church goer? When the tares has so engulfed the wheat then the wheat must give serious consideration to their position. The early church would simply fail to recognize what we call church today. While they always had wheat and tares, they would never have imagined a day when the wheat is simply crowded out by the tares. Yet, that is the nature of weeds is it not? A weed never needs any encouragement to grow, quite the opposite. If left unchallenged it simply grows to dominate and drown out everything else.

In these last days, God will have a pure and un-spotted Bride. He is drawing His own unto Himself and is preparing them through trial and tribulation for the final refining fire that is to come. Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. Yet brothers and sisters we are assured that we will overcome in the midst of it all by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our Testimonies and by the fact that we love not our lives unto death. This is the final and greatest witness; lives so transformed by the power of God that they cared not about their own deaths but about the glory of God thus forever closing the mouth of the accuser of the brethren.

Great points as usual Frank, but may I ask, “What is the underlying reason behind all these things?” Is it really the fact that so many false saints have infiltrated among the few faithful or does the problem reside a little closer to home?

As you have said, there may be at times tares among the saints and those will in time receive their due. But is not the primary reason for all our trouble as Christians among real saints- well meaning saints who have used their own ingenuity and wisdom in their attempts to build their own kingdoms here upon earth? Churches and institutions which demand allegiance to themselves and open themselves wide open to infiltration.

    I recently wrote:

RIGHT THINKING LEADS TO RIGHT LIVING

“God isn’t looking for men who will use His name to do His work their own way. He is looking for men who will die to their own way that He might use them”

Does the above statement ring true Scripturally speaking? Is this what we are witnessing among those claiming to be leaders among us?

I think the reason we are not seeing the Kingdom power of Christ because we have failed to enter into the Kingdom. Christ is the door into the Kingdom. We must first find Christ and who He really is to be able to even see a glimpse of the kingdom. Then we need to Enter it. How can we enter what we cannot see??? It is The Gospel of the Kingdom of God, revealed through Jesus Christ. The same Gospel revealed to Abraham!

Gal 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

9 So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

God is not calling us to be Messianic Jews, or Christians. He is calling us to BELIEVE that His Kingdom is real. His sovereignty is on Earth as it is in Heaven even in this age and the one to come! We need to become blind (to the world) that we may see (His Kingdom.) How can we apprehend something we cannot even see? Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the kingdom of Heaven. Once we see that Door into the Kingdom, He gives us the Keys. Have we obtained our cornerstone – the Living Stone? That is the foundation of the Prophets and Apostles. From that cornerstone grows the Kingdom of Heaven. We must possess the Land to possess the Power (The Promise!) and truly become Children of the Promise. (Abraham)

Are we truly seeking the Kingdom or only Jesus Christ? Are we seeing all that Jesus Christ is in order that we come to the ‘Fullness of Christ”? He is the Door, the Cornerstone, the Sacrificial Lamb, The King, intercessor, teacher, Son of God, First Fruits, a friend, a brother…something we need to enter the Kingdom of God.

Hi Susie, yes indeed we are called to walk in the Kingdom of God and Jesus is the door to the Kingdom. For years now I have prayed that God would bind the reality of this world from my eyes that I may walk in His Kingdom. Day by day we get to choose whether we walk in Kingdom reality or we walk according to the dictates of the flesh. Even when we walk in the Kingdom, we can be drawn back into the world so we must exercise discernment and beware when we stand lest we fall. The cross is the guarantee of walking in the Kingdom. When we take up our cross daily and we die to our flesh and to this world then we walk in Kingdom reality. Shall we abide in cross, shall we abide in His word, shall we abide in our intimacy with Him? Abiding, overcoming, enduring, these are Kingdom words. The flesh and the soul do not care for the reality that these words represent, the flesh and the soul seeks the path of least resistance and the path of least resistance is the world and the Kingdom reality is the narrow path that leads to life. To know the fullness of Christ we must be willing participants in the sufferings of Christ. When we enter into His sufferings then we enter into the battle……………….bro Frank

Yes, your statement absolutely rings true. Leaders building their own kingdoms is a huge part of the problem, yet the saints have an obligation to be lovers of truth. The Israelites, against the advice of the prophet of God and God Himself, demanded a King. It is they way they wanted it and God gave them what they wanted. And so we see that principal has always existed. it is much easier to serve a man than to serve God. It is much easier to dwell in a man made kingdom than it is to serve and walk in the Kingdom of God. Those who truly walk in His Kingdom are first and foremost lovers of the truth, they have received this love as a gift from God in response to a heart that genuinely seeks first His Kingdom and His righteousness. And so those who have received this gift become the greatest thorn in the flesh of those who would build their own kingdoms and have their own power structures. In the last 2000 years we have seen this in every generation. Whether it was saints in the dark ages who absolutely rejected what was known as the Eucharist as being the actual body of Christ or in another generation infant baptism or Popes, or purgatory and on and on. In every age there have been saints, a witness to the truth that burns like a raging fire in their bones to the exclusion of everything else including their families, their communities, their worldly possessions and their very lives. Praise God that He has always raised up witnesses for the truth. In the coming days we shall see a glorious generation raised up in the very heart of the most intense persecution refining fire. The one silver thread that connects these saints down through the ages is that they would not, under any circumstances, bow down to the gods of this world, large or small. Being fearful of God rather than of men s the most liberating aspect of the genuine saints walk in the Lord………………….bro Frank
