Consider the Presence of God

Posted by appolus on November 10, 2011

When we think of the presence of God, do we not think of that wonder that fills our being, that makes our heart glow within us? The presence that takes us up, that bends us low, that makes us weep, that makes us rejoice. That presence in which we can barely lift our heads because the glory of His majesty has supernatural weight that prostrates all living things. That presence where we can hear angels sing ” Glory unto God in the highest.” Yes brothers and sisters, all that and more. We desire this, we have our being in this. Yet, there is also a presence that fills the temple with a cloud to where the priests could not even stand because of the glory. Could not stand because of the Glory. Could not stand because the ark had found it place in the temple.ย  When the presence of God enters the temple, Solomon, filled with that very presence, the Spirit of God, cries out ” Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in heaven above or on the earth beneath , who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants , that walk before thee with all their heart.”

He further cries out ” Behold, the heavens and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee.” This is the presence that opens up the sea, that stops the roaring Jordan, that causes the walls of Jericho to fall. This presence causes the mountains to skip and the earth to shake. O mighty sea, what ails you that you fled? And you O Jordan, why were you driven back? O proud mountains and mighty sea and you o earth upon which we stand, you trembled in the presence of your Maker. O mighty mountains, when the presence of God rends the very heavens, you will flow down in His presence. And you o nations, when the fire of His wrath burns so that the waters boil, you will tremble in the presence of Glory. When He comes, the presence of the Lord is personal and beautiful and it stills the stormy seas. Yet, it is also terrible and awe-full, magnificent and terrifying. Who is like unto thee? For all the heavens that exist cannot contain you Father, you hold it in the palm of your hand.

(inspired by a comment posted that made me think of personal and the corporate presence of God)

How to choose Victory over defeat

Posted by appolus on November 6, 2011

What will increase the chances that when faced with a trial, a fork in the road, that we will choose the path of faith and victory over the road of fear and defeat?

Knowing Jesus and knowing about Jesus

Posted by appolus on November 5, 2011

1Jn 5:20ย  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Joh 17:3ย  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Whatever fills the heart floods the mouth. Listen and hear what a man talks about. The man that genuinly knows Jesus will almost always be talking about Him. Religious men talk about issues, and typically issues that divide, and they do that because they are speaking about what they know.

If they knew Jesus, their hearts would be filled with Him and their mouths would be flooded by words that talk of their grand passion. You will know a man by His works for sure, but you will also know a man by HIs words. Someone who is obsessed with sports only ever talks about sports. Another man may be obsessed by politics and that is what he continually speaks about. He can only really relate to others of like passion. The religious man will speak about issues, and will only be able to relate to others who are like-minded. They will congratualte each other and commend each other. Yet the man who ” knows ,” Jesus will talk about that knowing and want others to know Him too. Beware of the man who is identified by issues,ย look for the man who is identified by Jesus.

Eternal life is knowing Jesus. Better to know Jesus than to know about Him. Better, when we speak, to speak of what we know rather than to speak on issues that we know about. And this is life in Christ, knowing Him, all life flows from that. Those who know Jesus and speak of whom they know, speak life. Those who know about Jesus, speak of issues that do not flow from the heart but from that which can be seen, the outer issues, that bring condemnation. Both seem virtuous, one is life, the other is sensual wisdom, meaning wisdom that does not come from God.

Luk 6:45

ย  A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

A series of visions, final part- In the Fullness of Time

Posted by appolus on November 5, 2011

Then I began to hear the words “In the fullness of time” over and over. I again began to think of my nation and the man I had seen in the bed. I thought of the grief and the pain that I had felt over the state of my homeland. It was so godless and materialistic and I wondered when God would move in power to save, heal, deliver and transform. I wanted to see a true and deep transformation from the foundations up. I asked the Lord “How will this ever happen?” The task seemed so vast and the church was so weak, ill equipped and poorly organised. To me it seemed somewhat self-indulgent also. Then I became aware that there would be a movement of the Holy Spirit in this land and it would happen in the fullness of time.

A series of visions, part three-The dying man

Posted by appolus on November 1, 2011

This is part three of a series of visions that my cousin had. We see below that the country of Great Britain is portrayed vividly as a dying man in his vision. I would extend that to the Western world. God is speaking to His servants all over the world in these days, and His message is the same. I pray that there will be ears to hear and eyes to see what the Spirit is telling and showing the remnant people……………………………

A series of visions , part 2

Posted by appolus on October 29, 2011

Suddenly the nation seemed barren and devoid of God without this Ark. It was all meaningless and I could feel it. I could feel the bareness in the spirit realm. It was like life was seeping out of its spirit. Then I knew that the city and the nation was a living force and its life was dying and this was ultimately connected to turning away from Christ. The peoples were making wrong choices and forces were at work at higher levels to kill the spiritual life. I began to see swirling dark gusts of wind in the air around the street. Walking through fields of Fire

Posted by appolus on October 22, 2011

Have you ever walked through fields of fire, have you ever felt that your walk through this life is like walking on coals of fire? Do you ever stretch out your hands towards heaven and just long to be away? Does the sin and the pain of the world, perhaps your world, just seem to sweep in like the tide and cover everything?

The Prophet-Tozer

Posted by appolus on October 17, 2011

Another kind of religious leader must arise among us. He must be of the old prophet type, a man who has seen visions of God and has heard a voice from the Throne. When he comes (and I pray God there will be not one but many) he will stand in flat contradiction to everything our smirking, smooth civilization holds dear. He will contradict, denounce and protest in the name of God and will earn the hatred and opposition of a large segment of Christendom. Such a man is likely to be lean, rugged, blunt-spoken and a little bit angry with the world. He will love Christ and the souls of men to the point of willingness to die for the glory of the one and the salvation of the other. But he will fear nothing that breathes with mortal breath.

Treasures in the darkness!

Posted by appolus on October 16, 2011

In the depths of darkness is the greatest opportunities to grow close to the Lord. Let me illustrate it this way. What is a drop of water to someone who is just living their lives? What is a drop of water to someone who is at deaths door in the desert, same drop of water? Its treasure to one and not the other Read the rest of this entry »

The end of the Human spirit

Posted by appolus on October 13, 2011

The human spirit is a remarkable thing, It is so resilient. Some men and woman have suffered incredibly and somehow they survived, yet at what cost? Whether one lives or dies there is an end to the human spirit. Look on every street corner of ghettos, look into the eyes of a drug addict, an alcoholic. If you have eyes that can see, you can see that the human spirit has an end, it simply lays down and it dies. Read the rest of this entry »

From the Darkness of the Pit

Posted by appolus on October 11, 2011

This is one of the scariest poems Iย  ever published. It is so personal, it, like most poems,ย is a piece of who I am. I wrote it shortly after coming to Jesus. Before coming to the Lord i had never written a thing, let alone a poem. This poem descibes my journey through life , from a violent upbringing by a alcoholic father, to wandering in the desolation of drugs and alcohol for years, to finaly being rescued from the bottom of the bottomless pit. I met Jesus 21 years ago and I still remember the day and the hour. If one were serving a life sentence in solitary confinement, and suddenly they were released, they would remember that day forever!

The essence of Holiness

Posted by appolus on October 7, 2011

The Lord’s Holiness is seen in men and woman who have encountered the Living God. They are radically converted from a world of sin to a world of light. This radical conversion is seen in their walk. They are a living testimony of the power of God to change lives. They are a living testimony , read of men. And God gets all the glory.ย

Its worth exactly how much someone is willing to pay for it

Posted by appolus on September 24, 2011

How much are you worth? Do you struggle with that? Do you struggle with self-forgiveness? Do you understand the concept but simply cannot seem to apply it in your life? And, does this hold you back sometimes from being an effective minister for the Lord? Where does that come from? Does it come from the enemy? Perhaps it comes from your dysfunction? Or, perhaps it comes from a combination of both? Is it simply the devil taking advantage of your dysfunction? We will endeavor to look at this subject and address these questions but know this, it does not come from God.

Perpetual desolation

Posted by appolus on September 19, 2011

The poem that I wrote below is based on Psalm 74. There are many out there who know the pain of destruction, who know the agony of failure. Their failure has allowed the doorsย of destruction to be open and in pours hell and all of its fury.ย  And when the enemy comes on he comes in without mercy.ย  He wreaks havoc and tears down everything, things that took a lifetime to build, perhaps generations to establish, this is the nature of the enemy, he is a destroyer. He takes that which is precious and crushes it. ย Now while this is very true on a personal level, this is also true on a national level. This Psalm is a lament. It laments invasion. It cries out to God from a hopeless place. It remembers its past victories and cries out to God to remember His covenant. Brothers I believe that there is such a time coming to Christendom, a time ofย perpetual desolation,ย  a time of losing everything that has been precious to us, a stripping down until we stand naked before God and all that is left is what is truly valuable to us, our relationship with Him. Stand fast in the days ahead brothers and sisters. Press into God now, fill your lamps with oil now for the darkness comes, the darkness comes. In this place of desolation we can find Gods glory. For even the darkness is light to Him, praise God.

Are we lovers or prostitutes?

Posted by appolus on September 14, 2011

The Question That Changed My Life, by David Ryser
A number of years ago, I had the privilege of teaching at a school of ministry. My students were hungry for God, and I was constantly searching for ways to challenge them to fall more in love with Jesus and to become voices for revival in the Church. I came across a quote attributed most often to Rev. Sam Pascoe. It is a short version of the history of Christianity, and it goes like this:
