A poem for the martyrs for Christ
Posted by appolus on March 1, 2015
A poem to encourage the saints around the world and a declaration to the enemies of our bodies and souls. Whether we live or whether we die we have triumphed in Christ and will bring glory and honor to Him who sits on the throne and unto the Lamb.
In the midst of the battle
In the dark of the night
When they put out my eyes
Oh Lord give me sight
That I would have eyes
That could truly see
That despite these chains
I am surely free
Free to worship, free to love
Free to fly to my Father above
Take my head from my shoulders
Cut me down, burn me up
In Christ alone I will drink this cup
Who shall separate us from the Love of God?
In Christ alone we stand
No power in hell nor darkest foe
Shall take us from His hand
For the Love of God is a burning fire
That burns within our heart
To please our God is our one desire
And from that we shall never part
Though death may overtake us
And life may beat us down
There is no power on earth or hell
That shall keep us from our crown
He is higher than the highest heights
He is deeper than the deepest depths
He died for us on Calvary
And we shall follow His footsteps
For I am persuaded beyond a doubt
In Christ who set me free
So let the saints all give a shout
And worship Him eternally
We are more than conquerors in Christ our King
We stand with Him in victory
Neither life nor death nor anything
Shall chain the one’s that He set free
Let the skies fall down
Let them fall before your crown
Let the seas rise up
They could never fill your cup
You drunk down all the fires of hell
And forever broke sin’s deadly spell
Let the rivers run deep
As they see you come they weep
Let the stars fall from the sky
Let every hand be raised on high
At Golgotha you broke every chain
And now forever you shall reign
Let every valley flood
And be filled with precious blood
From the veins of Calvary
That were drained for you and me
That we may lift our voice and sing
Of Christ the Lord our risen King
Let the mountains touch the sky
And shout aloud as they reply
To the mighty rushing wind
That testifies that all men sinned
And speaks to men in pain
Ye men you must be born again!
The Lord our God, He lights our path
In the way that we must go
And the world is tossed by every wave
The wind it blows it to and fro
Stand up, stand up for Jesus
That is our clarion call
As the world begins to crumble
And the walls begin to fall
Why should we fear the darkness?
Why should we fear the light?
Wake up ye sleepy Christians
It’s time to stand and fight
We bear the armor of the Lord
Let’s step into the fray
Come now and fight while there’s still light
And walk while its yet day
For fast the night approaches
With murder in its hand
The gates of hell have come to see
That we no longer stand
And even though they spill our blood
And victory they will hail
And all around be darkness
The gates shall not prevail
For Christ in all His glory
Will come and fill the sky
You’ll hear the trumpet blowing
You’ll hear the angel cry
Behold the King of glory
He’s in His battle dress
And every knee on earth shall bow
And every tongue confess
That Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords
And He is King of kings
All glory to Emmanuel
Is what the angel sings
And so I say to the accuser of the saints
You can kill us till the day is done
We are lambs to the slaughter in Christ our King
For in Him the victory is already won
What can separate us from Christ our King
Nothing in this world not anything
In Christ alone we stand or fall
To Him we give our all in all.
