Be anxious for Nothing (Fear, the greatest enemy of the Church)

Posted by appolus on May 26, 2008

Are you tired of living in fear? Lets call fear what it is, it is a lack of trust in God. Trust is the foundation of any relationship, trust and commitment. How can we be committed to a God in whom we do not trust? When we do not trust Him, then we are calling Him a liar. If we step outside of trusting Him, then we begin to run our own lives, making our own decisions. When a Christian makes a decision, based on fear, disaster inevitably follows.

The Spirit of Conviction

Posted by appolus on May 14, 2008

It is a great wonder that some of the most riveting and memorable stories in the Bible are not about “good folk.” The Lord had came down from heaven to highlight love and grace and mercy and redemption. How better to do that than on the canvas of some of the greatest sinners. Against the blackness of these lives we see the brilliance and the total majesty of grace. When one goes into a jewelers and looks at diamonds, most times they are shown against black velvet. The blackness of the background only highlights the beauty and perfection of the gems. In much the same way Jesus chose those folk with black backgrounds to highlight the utter beauty of a love that ignores the vileness of the gutter, the sewers of life, to demonstrate the indescribable grace and mercy of God .He would not only condescend to come to a dark earth, but would go right into the hells of our society, not with condemnation but with open loving forgiving arm. Praise God I speak not from theory.

A Word from God (Go Beyond what you Know)

Posted by appolus on May 11, 2008

Each human is a vast unexplored universe. Only I have the ability to navigate the human heart and map it. Without the navigator, without the map all is chaos and darkness. Without the ship of God and Jesus the Captain, you will only ever stare at the horizon of your souls and be fearful of what lies beyond. Read the rest of this entry »

I Bore You on Eagles Wings

Posted by appolus on May 7, 2008

Learning to trust in God relies upon us not knowing what is going to happen next. Yet the tyranny of fear means that we will cling to any man who promises us results in the midst of seeming defeat. Even our own hearts deceive us. What makes perfect sense to us, does not always play out as many could testify to. We learn to trust God and exercise faith at the highest level when we do not know if we will be healed, or where we are going or what is going to happen next. Read the rest of this entry »

Woe unto the pastors, for the church is dead!

Posted by appolus on May 4, 2008

Now that we are relatively few in the world, he is coming after us. Most of us have been captured and imprisoned. Many of us have already been killed. The world was plunged into chaos and the genuine Christians were blamed for most of the evils. We would not compromise. We refused to drop the name “Jesus,” from our prayers Read the rest of this entry »

Are you washed in the Blood or do you dwell in the desert?

Posted by appolus on April 29, 2008

Let me ask you something, and be honest, when did you die? Can you remember dying and being born-again? Now, I am not talking about stepping forward and signing the pledge in some Sunday school class when you were six. I am asking you when you died? To die to the world is a wrenching experience, but it is an experience. If you came forward in some service so many vague years ago and took out some fire insurance against the inferno’s of hell then you probably cannot relate to this “dying.” The question is “when did you die to the world?” Read the rest of this entry »

Forgiveness leads to Him

Posted by appolus on April 27, 2008

He who forgives not is not forgiven, and the prayer of the
Pharisee is as the weary beating of the surf of hell, while the
cry of a soul out of its fire sets the heart-strings of Love
trembling.
… George Macdonald (1824-1905), Sir Gibbie [1879]

My Testimony “The Valley of Achor.” (Lengthy)

Posted by appolus on April 25, 2008

When there was no food on the table, she told us that we had to believe and that the Lord would provide, and then we would hear a letter dropping. We would rush to the door and there would be an envelope with money in it. We found out years later that a wonderful woman in Christ would often be led by Jesus to put her tithe in an envelope and drop it through our door. No name, just obedience to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

A Broken heart replaced

Posted by appolus on April 25, 2008

These are two poems that speak of my journey form being the child of an alcoholic, to being one myself, to coming to Christ. And the glorious liberty that I found in the day that I called out to Him and He came to me, right where I was in all my sin and filth. I try to decribe the shame and the guilt and the heart of a young child being crushed by a cruel, lost father.

Out of The Tempest

Posted by appolus on April 21, 2008

I talked to a woman today. She was caught up in a storm of bitterness, anger and unforgiveness for her husband on what seemed like a small and reasonably insignificant incident. What I saw in the Spirit was a woman enslaved to fear and insecurity and past hurts. Each of these elements fueled each other, they were three slavemasters. The original masters name was “past hurts.” He went out and had insecurity and fear join him as they mercilessly whipped this woman.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Posted by appolus on April 9, 2008

“It was this experience, twelve years later and in a state of alcoholic and drugged desperation, that I remembered. I thought about the love that I had felt all those years ago when the Lord had took over me for a few moments, I thought about the witness of my mother, who continued on with Christ despite all her many trials, I thought about the love and the peace and the tranquility of that moment that I had felt, and suddenly I longed for a safe harbor from the raging storms of my mind. I decided to find Jesus and ask Him to take my life, such as it was. I did find Him, He did take it and now, 18 years after that I have been priveleged to walk beside Him.”

Hope In Jesus

Posted by appolus on April 7, 2008

He is above us, and His Spirit goes before us and will make the crooked path straight, He will make “rivers in the desert,” He will “make a way where there seems to be no way,” for He is faithful and true and is holding out His hand to you right now, lift up your head, reach out and take it, He will lead and guide you through this most difficult part.

Martin Luther King

Posted by appolus on April 4, 2008

I have a dream this day. I dream that men and woman of God around the world would rise up and take their rightful place in the Kingdom of God. If that means death to the flesh, or perhaps even literal death, then is it not better to die for our God in the glorious cause of freedom than to live out our lives in mediocrity? Better to only live one more day, but live that day a free man, than to live forty more years in the shadow of fear. Better to die in the street a chain breaker, than to be found cowering behind the door with a gun, ready to shoot anyone who “tries to get me and mine.”

When was the last time you were intimate with your Husband?

Posted by appolus on February 19, 2008

“Are you intimate with the Lord ? What does it mean to be intimate with Jesus? We, as husbands and wives, know what it means to be intimate with our spouses. If we did not come together “as one flesh,” then what would we be ? Roommates? Its the becoming one that truly makes us husbands and wives. Please do not mistake what I am saying, I am not talking about sex, although the act itself is part of the intimate equation. Yet, how many of us know that there can be sex without intimacy?”

Holding His Hand

Posted by appolus on February 18, 2008

The sweet all consuming joy of His presence. This heart of a lion that beats within the chest of a lamb. This all consuming power of love that rises victoriously above all the battles of life. What battle field do you find yourself on today? Do you battle the unseen enemy of unforgiveness? Or has someone wronged you and bitterness knocks at your door?

Quote From Scofield

Posted by appolus on February 12, 2008

The church has failed to follow her appointed pathway of separation, holiness, heavenliness and testimony to an absent but coming Christ; she has turned aside from that purpose to
the work of civilizing the world, building magnificent temples, and acquiring earthly power and wealth, and, in this way, has ceased to follow in the footsteps of Him who had not
where to lay His head.

Did you pass the test but fail the class?

Posted by appolus on January 28, 2008

‘It is amazing that you can say something that is true, you can “judge ,” a brothers actions and be correct, yet, if you say it or judge without love then you are only adding to the problem. When love is combined with truth, only then does it have the power to change for the good.”

Gods Plan Will Not Be Thwarted

Posted by appolus on January 1, 2008

“How many of us have suffered from paralysis of analysis? We are so unsure of Gods will for our life that we that we cannot discern our way ahead. We are afraid that if we do not hear an audible voice, or even a small still voice then we could make a mistake and if we step outside of His plan, then we face ruin and attack from an enemy just waiting to pounce. Its hard to imagine that the Royal Priesthood could suffer such bondage from the father of lies.”

The Prodigal Bomber

Posted by appolus on December 31, 2007

“Have you ever prayed for a loved one for a long time? You pray and trust in the Lord and you actually see that person getting worse, going from one bad decision to another. You talk to them and you share with them and you try to council them and convince them that everything they need, the answer to their deepest problems lie with the Lord Jesus.”

HE KNOWS THE PLANS HE HAS FOR YOU

Posted by appolus on December 29, 2007

“This drunkenness was a way of life for me. I grew up in a working class society where drunkenness was a right of passage. I very much admired men who could consume copious amounts of alcohol and still continue to drink. My highest ambition was to become just like them. For the most part I achieved my goals.”
