Hope In Jesus

Posted by appolus on April 7, 2008

He is above us, and His Spirit goes before us and will make the crooked path straight, He will make “rivers in the desert,” He will “make a way where there seems to be no way,” for He is faithful and true and is holding out His hand to you right now, lift up your head, reach out and take it, He will lead and guide you through this most difficult part.

HOPE IN JESUS

Psalm 137: 3 “We hung our harps Upon the willows in the midst of it. For there, those who carried us away captive asked of us a song.”

Perhaps you have not been taken prisoner, and carried of to a strange land, like the Israelites from Psalm 137, yet most Christians know what it is like to battle unseen enemies. Enemies that mock and accuse.

When your head is down, when you do not even know why you are struggling, but you do know there is an unexplainable inner battle, then it is all the more important to enter into His presence.

Many Christians will experience this kind of an attack before or after a spiritual breakthrough. Maybe you are in the midst of spiritual depression right now? What might some of the symptoms look like, how can we tell that we are being assaulted by the enemy? Remember, the enemy’s best weapon is for us to look at our circumstances and not realize that he is behind the attack.

Another favorite weapon is for him to convince believers that he is everywhere and behind every situation, it is both sides of the same coin and he uses whatever will distract you best. The key word being distraction.

When your walking in the presence of the Lord, the enemy is rendered powerless. The circumstances and situations that are getting you down, the people that are bugging you, the children that are driving you crazy, the coworker that is under your skin the husband or wife that seems to say the wrong thing all the time, all of the situations will have the wind taken out of their sails when we focus on Him

In Isaiah 61 there are promise made to you and I. The Holy Spirit says through the Prophet that He will console those who mourn, that He will take the ashes of our situations, situations that have blown up in our face, and give us beauty. He promises to pour out Himself on all those who mourn, for whatever reason.

Perhaps you have a heavy spirit this day. You know that you are barely able to even function. It seems to you that tomorrow will inevitably be like today and the day before. For whatever reason you cannot seem to shake this of. The Lord has provided us with a solution and a way of escape from every situation. He says that we should put on a “garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.” If you will begin to praise Him right now, even although you do not feel like it, then the spirit of heaviness will flee.

The song goes like this “Put on The garment of praise for the Spirit of heaviness, lift up your voice and sing, sing with the Spirit and with understanding, Oh magnify the King”

Let our King be magnified this day. For as we lift up our eyes, as we look unto the mountain, we shall see where our help comes from. Let us magnify the Lord Jesus this day, this moment, let us consider all the battles that He has taken us through, how He saved us, how we came to know Him, how His presence is so sweet. Lets consider eternity, and that these present trials will fade into memory as we walk on with Him in the beauty of Holiness. If you will lift up your head this day, then you will see the glory of the Risen Lord, for the head that hangs down cannot see what is above him or what is before him.

He is above us, and His Spirit goes before us and will make the crooked path straight, He will make “rivers in the desert,” He will “make a way where there seems to be no way,” for He is faithful and true and is holding out His hand to you right now, lift up you head, reach out and take it, He will lead and guide you through this most difficult part.

In the world, when a person is most at risk, in danger, then they rely greatly on their five senses. In the Spirit it is not so. As you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, as you negotiate the most dangerous parts of your journey, the Lord asks that you would suspend your senses, close your eyes and let Him lead you. He will lead your every step, minute by minute, day by day and far from feeling vulnerable because you have closed your eyes, you will feel more secure than you have ever before, because you have surrendered your ability to cope, and you are completely dependent upon Him.

This is so beautiful and uplifting Frank, the perfect conclusion to my morning devotions before heading off to work! May we ever keep our hearts fixed on He who is Faithful and True for His hand is mighty and strong; we can lean on His arm when the path is rocky and in due season He will lift us up with wings to soar like eagles above the clouds.

Blessings to you in Jesus love and grace Frank! We are signed up for the conference; may the will of the LORD be done!

“He will lift us up with wings to soar like eagles above the clouds.”

The thing about eagles, they soar in updrafts. There is no struggling, flapping of wings, they simply catch the updraft and spread their wings and they are taken up. For those who wait upon the Lord, He does it all. It is not by might nor power, but by the wind of the Spirit, this updraft will take us effortlessly into His presence. We cannot work our way into it, we can only surrender and allow ourselves to be taken there. Oh God that I may surrender all that I am, for what am I fighting to keep? To keep from your presence?

The Lord willing sister, I will see you and your husband in our ancient homeland………Frank
