And so I was like a pioneer back in the wagon trail days. I had started a journey, which by the way typically started at a town in Missouri called, of all names, Independence. I traveled through different rugged States, overcame deserts and rivers and mountains which were called anger and fears and lusts and insecurity, and I finally came to a vast ocean. I found many camps there, all up and down the coast. Different camps of Christianity. They had all found their way here because they had followed trails. And yet their destiny lay beyond the horizon of this sea called “Dependence.” Read the rest of this entry »

The Remant man or woman carries their cross. Carrying a cross is a lonely business. Its their very lonliness that compels them to seek an even closer walk with the Lord. The trials of the cross, the narrowness of the path, the desert and wilderness that often stretches out before you, a lack of fitting in, no ackowledgement of anything that you do, what you do you do in secret, you only seek to see the Lord high and lifted up.

God Himself is an encounter. A heart that has not been enraptured by love, is a heart that has not had an encounter with the Living God. Revival is encounter! Read the rest of this entry »

In this post there are several articles grouped together in regard to the Remnant and the coming Reformation. I hope it will be a valuable resource. It can be a very lonely and confusing walk right now for Gods people, but it is very comforting to know that there are countless tens of thousands of Christians around the world who are walking the exact same narrow path that leads through this current desert. I believe that the “river is rising,” and that there is a depth of feeling that the drought and the famine could be coming to and end, for Gods sake and for His glory. There is a critical mass of His people who are now in this stage “As the deep panteth for the waterbrooks so my soul longeth after thee.”

These are challenging words to the Church from a good friend of mine, Greg Gordon of Sermonindex.net ministries. Greg himself does not believe that the Evangelical church is finished. This is one of the few area’s that we disagree. The new wine that is coming cannot be poured into old wineskin, just as there was no room in Catholicism for Luthers 95 Theses although many at the time argued that there was, history of course has proven them wrong. The reformation was only a limited reform with much of the model of Catholicism retained. The remnant church of the end times will be radically different, praise God. It will not be a Catholic model, it will be an Acts model. Just as the Catholics fought the Lutherens, so the Evangelicals will srongly resist any attempt to model the church of Acts. Hearts that are “fit to break” with love for the Godhead
are those who have been in the Presence and have looked with
opened eye upon the majesty of Deity. Men of the breaking
hearts had a quality about them not known to or understood by
common men. They habitually spoke with spiritual authority.
They had been in the Presence of God and they reported what
they saw there. They were prophets, not scribes: for the scribe
tells us what he has read, and the prophet tells us what he has
seen.
The distinction is not an imaginary one. Between the scribe
who has read and the prophet who has seen, there is a
difference as wide as the sea. We are today overrun with
orthodox scribes; but the prophets, where are they? The hard
voice of the scribe sounds over evangelicalism, but the Church
waits for the tender voice of the saint who has penetrated the
veil and has gazed with inward eye upon the Wonder that is God.

JEHOVAH RIDES UPON A SWIFT CLOUD
| You see, when God judges a nation in this fashion he robs their leaders of their wisdom. He brings about situations where the best counselors are at a complete loss as to how to move forward and solve their problems and their problems only mount up higher and higher. This is undoubtedly the situation America faces right now and since it is God that sits in judgement, there are no resolutions to their mounting problems and crisis. Just when they seem to get a handle on one problem and seek to breathe a little easier, quickly the next judgment comes. Read the rest of this entry » |

Men are so determined to do it themselves that when a man is saved, that is not the end. He now has to be broken, he has to know that everyone of his efforts will lead to nothing but defeat. It may take one year, it may take fifty years, but every genuine follower of Christ will be broken and when the brokenness comes and total surrender comes, then, and only then do they realize that it is all God and none of them. We are the recipients of mercy and grace, not of wages. Read the rest of this entry »

Our God is a consuming fire. He seeks to set men ablaze with His love. He seeks to burn the chaff off men’s lives. He seeks to purify and refine and He does this through fire. This can only be achieved in men who have had their walls broken down. All of their own ambitions and hopes and dreams demolished by an all consuming God who shares His glory with no one.

The moments I have spent in your sanctuary, rob me of all of my words and render them all meaningless. I feel heavenly words in all of me, not just in my brain and in my mouth, but in my very essence. Who and what you are is in my very DNA in your presence, and every particle of me glows with who you are in your presence , and I know that I cannot dwell there for I would that I would never leave that place. And so that I can go on living I must only dwell there for a moment, but oh what a glorious moment, these moments are my very life.

Yes, even in the very depths of our trials, we can call upon that name, the name of Jesus, the name that is above every name. The name by which everything must bow. Darkness must flee at that name, mourning must flee in the presence of Jesus. Hopelessness becomes hope in the presence of the Lord. Bitterness becomes forgiveness, strife becomes peace, captivity becomes freedom Read the rest of this entry »

Only eye-witnesses to His glory will suffice as the days of history draw to a close. To tell others a story that you have been told is not good enough. Can you say, with the prophet “My eyes have seen the King?” Have you experienced the fullness of God? Has your whole “house,” been shaken by His majesty and His splendor? Is your feet beautiful? We Evangelicals have failed to pass on to our young people an orthodox form of faith that can take root and survive the secular onslaught. Ironically, the billions of dollars we’ve spent on youth ministers, Christian music, publishing, and media has produced a culture of young Christians who know next to nothing about their own faith except how they feel about it. Our young people have deep beliefs about the culture war, but do not know why they should obey scripture, the essentials of theology, or the experience of spiritual discipline and community. Coming generations of Christians are going to be monumentally ignorant and unprepared for culture-wide pressures. Read the rest of this entry »

Below is a post from David Wilkerson. He shared this prophetic word on hs blog a couple of days ago. I very rarely publish other people on my blog, yet this is a man that I greatly respect as a true man of God. This post is not designed to scare anyone, in fact I am sure that we all believe that “perfect love casts out all fear.” This post is more in the Agabus tradition. If there is something coming, and it is just around the corner, now is the time to draw near to God if that is not where you dwell. In His presence there is fullness of joy despite circumstances. “He prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies.” Even in the very depths of tribulation, we can feast on the presence of God. Consider brother Stephen as he was being stoned to death. Consider the countless martyrs down through the corridors of time who sang hymns as flames consumed their mortal bodies, releasing their spirits into His hand. Rejoice, for perhaps our groom is at the door, our betrothal period may be coming to an end, this is a matter for great joy.

This peace which surpasses all understanding comes within the circumstances themselves, and not when we are alleviated from them. It can only come in the midst of the fire. The question is, do we really want to be more like Christ? Do we really want this peace? Or, do we simply wish an escape from our circumstances, most of which are of our own making. God is a God of perfect justice and the scope of that perfect justice is a frightful thing indeed, but only to those who seek to justify themselves.

And the oil that dwells within your chest is set aflame by this light, this fire from the throne itself. “Did not our hearts burn within us as we walked with Him?” Yet we are not walking now, we are in the throne room itself, God has come down. Our whole body burns with a beautiful warmth. All things are possible, eternity stretches out before us and we never want to leave this place, we never want to leave this place. The candlestick burns. God speaks, sin melts like wax, refining, yes refining. We offer ourselves and the dross that lies within and the Lord says “Come.”

This intimacy, this presence is the key to all aspects of our Christianity. There is no difficulty in Christendom today that could not be resolved by the presence of God. That is why it all comes back to Calvary. Calvary is the expression of absolute Love, absolute surrender, absolute victory. It is the totality of the expression of God’s love for the world.

A single tear falls from the Fathers face as He sees His Son return victorious. As the Father stands, Jesus, riding His majestic white stallion with a two-edged sword at His side, sees His Father. He lifts His head up towards the light and the glory. His horse majestically walks the path avoiding the golden crowns that lie beneath its feet, undisturbed by the cheers of the thousands, no the millions. And they sing “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God almighty.” Read the rest of this entry »

The real fight, brothers and sisters is the fight between light and darkness. Does your walk in this life generate light? Does the warmth of your love, first for the brethren and then for the world, draw all men to Christ in you, who dwell in cold darkness? Will the Lord say to you “Well done good and faithful servant, your theology was better than your brothers?”

So, how does this play into what is going on in the church today and the dilemma of the younger generation raised on acquire the fire and pump it up messages. This generation dwell almost entirely in the realm of the soul. Silence would terrify them. They have been raised to think that a heightened awareness of their senses is “the presence of God.” What a tragedy, not just for them, but for the unchurched world. If you were a unchurched person, you would get the same heightened feeling at any rock concert, and of course, most times the world does this better. Their concerts are their church. Just go to one, one time and you will see these people “worshipping,” corporately.
