The Evangelical sub-culture-Mere religion?

Posted by appolus on February 23, 2011

Is evangelicalism the newest form of “Religion”? Perhaps its always been a religion? Or perhaps it morphed into religion? Whatever the case, it is clear that it is truly a sub-culture. Genuine Christianity has always been a counter-culture. Right from the beginning, those who had encountered God were radically transformed. What they had may not have been perfect, but they were never accused of looking like the world. The world knew who they were, they always knew who they were. They were a ” peculiar,” people. They were out of step with the world. They ran counter to the culture.Β

Why isn’t the American church growing?

Posted by appolus on February 18, 2011

God is moving in powerful ways in the developing world. How is it that God can visit a mud hut in the middle of Africa yet bypass the comfortable sanctuaries we created for Him in our country? Ravenhill answered it this way: β€œGod does not answer prayer; He answers desperate prayer.” Jesus comes to those who are desperate for Him. The reason I believe that most of us never experience a move of God is simply that we are content to live without it. In the West we now have the money but no longer the power to speak to a paralyzed world. The song in our hearts is gone, as well as our desire for Him to rule at the center of our hearts. We quickly point to our blessings (which are almost always of the material variety) and claim that our overabundance is due to God’s favor. Read the rest of this entry »

The Church of Tomorrow

Posted by appolus on February 4, 2011

β€œTHE CHURCH OF TOMORROW β€œ
-by Andrew Strom.

A lot of people probably read some of the writings on this website and
wonder, β€œWhere is all this headed? What is the goal?” A glib answer might
be- β€œWe want to get back to real β€˜New Testament’ Christianity.” But what
exactly does that look like?

Have you been diligent to enter His rest?

Posted by appolus on January 29, 2011

If you say that you are a Christian and you have not entered His rest what does that profit anyone? If the writer of Hebrews compares Christendom with the Israelites in the desert ,who do not believe and trust in God and therefore choose to wander and die in the desert, what does that say to us?Is it possible that we could have escaped Egypt, the world, only to die in the wilderness because ultimately we do not trust God? A Desperate hour calls for a Radical response

Posted by appolus on January 18, 2011

Listen to this powerful sermon as the brother uses his dying son as a very powerful and heartbreaking analogy of todays desperate state.

Things are about to get hotter!

Posted by appolus on January 11, 2011

Saints, I am convinced that there is a mighty battle going on right now, even as we speak. I believe that this battle will soon overflow from the spiritual realm into this physical realm. And we know from Scripture that our battle is against principalities and powers, against the worlds rulers, against the darkness of this age and against spiritual wickedness in high places. (eph 6:12) I am convinced that theΒ saints that have been called to pray and intercede are experiencing trials and tribulations like never before because of this very battle. It may be in the mind and it may have physical manifestations or probably both. Now is the time for steadfastness. Now is the time to prevail and overcome. Now is not the time to shrink back although the flesh may cry out for that.

The Martyr Church-The Remnant People-Tozer

Posted by appolus on January 2, 2011

Gods remnant people are being called to stand like Christ in the wilderness, refusing all worldy help, waiting on the hand of God to move. We will learn to be the people who can say “But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up” Loving not our lives unto death!!! I will Awaken the Dawn!

Posted by appolus on December 30, 2010

Perhaps you find yourself in a solitary place today because of words spoken against you? Unjust, hurtful words, hateful words, things that are simply not true. Perhaps circumstances or tragedies have driven you to a place or darkness and desolation? David said that his enemies had prepared a net for his steps and had dug a pit in front of him (Psalm 57:6) and that his soul was “bowed down.”We see that David got tangled up in that net and fell headfirst into the pit. Perhaps you too have been tripped up in your walk and have fallen head first into the pit and find yourself in a similar darkness as King David? Read the rest of this entry »

Do you know the presence of God?

Posted by appolus on November 3, 2010

The Most High does not dwell in Temples made with hands.” God was not behind the veil, hidden and inaccessible to man, look!!!!!! The presence of God was hung high upon a tree , humbled and naked for all the world to see. The presence of God is Jesus and Jesus is the door to His people and the door leads directly into the holy of holy’s, Gods own throne-room where Jesus stands at the right hand of the Father. My mothers testimony!

Posted by appolus on October 19, 2010

Last week my mother gave her testimony on our prayer conference call. What I like about the way that she gives her testimony is that she sticks to giving Jesus the glory. She actually suffered much violence and persecution for the name of Jesus, but it would be har to tell that from her testimony. You can hear it her , it starts about the 8.30 mark click here ->My mothers testimony.Β You can read more about her testimony at

Here is a recording from our prayer meeting on Tuesday, the 6th of October. My good friend and brother, Pastor Brian Long led out with a message that is powerful and profound. This is truly a message to God’s Remnant people. Brian will be speaking at the Sermonindex revival conference in Dallas which is coming up on the 19-21st October. The Land is is ruins, weep all ye people!Β  You can go to about minute 7 and bypass the music and opening prayer and go straight to the message.

The Remnant! Who are they? Are you part of the Remnant?

Posted by appolus on September 22, 2010

Do you know what is wrong with us as a Church today? We are taking ourselves for granted. We are assuming that which may not be true at all; that which is founded upon wishful hoping and not upon sound Biblical experience in many cases. We have not been disturbed enough. We have not allowed God to plough furrows on our backs. We have not dared to go before God and have the examination made. We are afraid of what God will find , and we would rather wait. Therefore we have waited and settled down. There has always been a small remnant and they have been in the midst of all the rest. A million might wish with their lips and worship with their lips, but only a small fragment truly worship in their hearts in a way that honors and pleases God. We do not need to imagine it as an indication of vast spiritual or high degree of holiness when we see a church door open and multitudes spew out on the sidewalk. Follow them home. Follow them a half a block and see how they live. That is the way to tell. “Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them'( Matt 7:20)

Can you say ” I have no King but Jesus?”

Posted by appolus on September 11, 2010

When your faced with a God that does not serve you. When you are robbed, beaten, cheated, taken advantage of. When someone close to you dies, a loved one is murdered, will you turn your back on God?Jesus did not stack up against Barabbas. Barabbas was a rebel against Rome. Jesus was silent on Rome. The crowd methodically rejected a captive and scourged Jesus until finally it came to the truth of the matter and it proclaimed ” We have no king but Caesar.” Shocking, isn’t it? But what about you? Can you truly say ” I have no King but Jesus?” Or are you too looking for someone to sort out the world?” Read the rest of this entry »

The rise of the remnant and the fall of the church!

Posted by appolus on September 9, 2010

There is a great multitude today who are desperately hungry and thirsty. All over the world the people dwell in great darkness and the darkness increases every day. Hell has opened its vaults and is beginning to spew out evil with increasing speed and urgency because it knows its time is short. There is desperate darkness coming and it is coming at us with alarming speed. Yet, as in the time of Noah, the world is ignorant of the impending disaster about to befall it. Like the children of Israel when Jesus says ” O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!”

Out with the rabbits and in with the Remnant! Revival in a Barn?

Posted by appolus on September 6, 2010

Last Sunday a journalist from a local paper came along to do a story about these people in the barn. Turns out she was an atheist. She ended up spending several hours. She seemed to enjoy it and told them that those three hours seemed like one. The story that she ended up writing, which was on the front page, ended up being a favorable one. It was entitled ” Humble beginnings.” Read the rest of this entry »

God, the Gospel, and Glenn Beck

Posted by appolus on August 31, 2010

Too often, and for too long, American “Christianity” has been a political agenda in search of a gospel useful enough to accommodate it. There is a liberation theology of the Left, and there is also a liberation theology of the Right, and both are at heart mammon worship. The liberation theology of the Left often wants a Barabbas, to fight off the oppressors as though our ultimate problem were the reign of Rome and not the reign of death. The liberation theology of the Right wants a golden calf, to represent religion and to remind us of all the economic security we had in Egypt. Both want a Caesar or a Pharaoh, not a Messiah.

God, the Gospel, and Glenn Beck.

Shields of Gold or shields of Brass?

Posted by appolus on August 5, 2010

Where is the treasures of your peace brothers and sisters? Do you walk with a singleness of mind and a purity of heart, a heart that only ever seeks after the Lord our God? Do we shine and glow in the presence of God like the pure gold Solomon’s shields? Or , if men were to look a little closer at us would they discover that it is not gold at all but merely Rehoboam’s brass, a pale and worthless imitation?

The Priesthood

Posted by appolus on July 22, 2010

There is a time coming soon when the “temple will be restored,” so to speak. God will be elevated amongst His people above the din of the world and beyond our circumstances. He, and He alone is our exceeding great reward.” “This is eternal life, that you may know Him.” He shall be known to a people who draw near to Him in the beauty of His holiness. In His presence we will know the height and the depth and the fullness of Him and we will be ruined for all of this world and we will never be the same, we will never be the same and then we will indeed be a sweet savour to our Lord and to our God. And so, as one who arose from the dead out of sins and corruption, as one who had been crushed and broken, what can I say about this new heart? Its life itself. Walking in the Spirit

Posted by appolus on June 29, 2010

As I do all these things and a peace that is beyond understanding fills me completely, then I know that I am walking in the Spirit of the Living God and my heart literally burns within my chest. And as it burns, it gives off a light that men can see and they are drawn to Christ in me. When this happens, I know that I am walking in the Spirit!
