A word in season to the weary.

Posted by appolus on August 18, 2022

Isa 50:4  The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary.

In Daniel  7:25 it says “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” We are living in a time when the laws are being changed. The natural laws handed down to us by God Himself are being changed by folks who speak great swelling words. Their rebellion is almost complete. The foundations are being destroyed, what shall the righteous do? The battle lines are being drawn by the prince of the power of the air, of this I have no doubt. The saints are wearied and are being worn out by an deluge of wickedness, and still the flood comes. Daniel says that we shall be given into his hand “until a time and times and the dividing of times.” Rev 13:7 says “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”

And so, a word to the weary and the worn out saints. Yes a mighty flood of evil has engulfed the world, but our Lord says in His Word that when the enemy comes in like a flood, He shall raise up a standard. He has prepared a highway of Holiness that leads through fire and flood. He has given us a tongue. A word of knowledge, a word of wisdom, a heavenly word that only the Spirit can discern. A word of encouragement. God Himself has given a learned tongue, touched by the Blood of the Lamb and coals of refining fire. Those who oppose you will increase as you continue to stand unmoved by the cultural winds that are beginning to blow with hurricane force. But you will not fall because trial and tribulation and temptations have been your lot for many years now, and your roots have went down deep into the waters of life. You have seen how God has been faithful to you through every situation and because of that your own faith has increased; to God be the glory.

Truth has consumed you and transformed you and you are a lover of it and no power that exists will wrestle it away from you. And of course the Word of God is your delight. It is the foundation upon which you stand. It allows you to stand, unmovable. It is a lamp unto your feet in the ever-increasing darkness of this world and it lights up the narrow path ahead. Stand fast brothers and sisters, the gates of hell shall not prevail against those who stand. He shall awaken you morning by morning. He is the stillness of your soul and He touches every part of your longing heart. He is in every tear that falls and in the billowing waves He hears you call. He shall be your quiet peace as the sun rises in the morning and your calm assurance in the night. He will be your laughter in the rain and your endurance through the pain. In the silence and in the noise you shall hear His still small voice and in this my brothers and sisters you shall rejoice. He rises up like the sun above the mountains, and He will refresh you from His inexhaustible fountains.

Beautiful encouraging post. This wearing down of the saints. Attrition warfare. I first heard of this from Pastor Scott Hynds last year. Never heard of it before, never mind knew what it was, until he put out that one very powerful exhortation last year. Now I know and understand. SermonIndex.net still has it up. The 10 minute 44 second video is entitled: Satan’s warfare against the church is ramping up. And he was right about everything he said. He explained it so perfectly. That’s exactly what is going on, it’s the best way to explain it.

What an encouragement to know we are not a special case, that we’re not the only ones going through this. All of us who are doing our best to live holy and right before the Lord are suffering in many of the same ways. Some saints refer to it as psychological warfare. I would indeed say that’s a part of it. It’s all kinds of things going wrong from top to bottom.

I know at my house there is no love or warmth. It goes through the constant cycles of World War 3, then Cold War, then peace time for a short space. And then the cycle repeats. I hate my life in this world. I’m not trying to sound pitiful, I’m just being candid. I know I don’t have to look out the window or turn on the news, I feel the labor pains right where I’m at here in my own home. They are coming harder and harder, closer together, and less rest periods in between. Some days all I can do is just cry, I’m so sad and lonely and defeated and discouraged, I’m broken to the uttermost, and hurting all of the time.

The demonic attacks in my mind have been more than I can bear at times. I have dreams periodically about being attacked by swarms of bees coming at my head. Bees getting in my house. Bees building nests in my house. That about sums it up spiritually alright. Symbolic of demonic assaults and attacks on my mind. The fiery darts of the enemy. They are so little, but they all sting and there are always so many of them.

Saints, if this is happening to you, know that you are not alone. You might be alone or feel all alone, but you are not alone. There are other brothers and sisters out there suffering and enduring the same kinds of sufferings and hardships and assaults from an enemy who wants to take you out and destroy you. He wants to destroy your faith, your family, your health, your home. Father God in heaven, have mercy on us. Dear God, please help us, each and every one in all of our weaknesses.

Yes Anonymous, I agree with you, we must be doing something right. I know that for me, the more time I spend alone with the Lord and the closer I draw near to him, I can count on trouble coming. I cried out to the Lord one day many months ago now, and asked, Lord why? Why am I so hated? Why am I so despised? Why all these hardships? Why is my heart always broken? Why do I hurt do much? Why? Why? Why? And in an instant the Lord brought to my remembrance prayers that I had prayed through the years. The prayers were about wanting to be pleasing to him, wanting to bear much fruit for him, wanting to have fellowship with him in suffering the same kind of sufferings he suffered. And then I understood. The devil wants you to believe it’s because God has forgotten you, has forsaken you, that he’s left you, he’s punishing you for some wrong you may have done. That you are unworthy of anything good, that he doesn’t hear your prayers, or hear your cries, that he’s hidden his face from you because you are a terrible person. All lies. That’s not how God sees us at all. That is, those of us who belong to Jesus who are trying our best to walk in holiness, righteousness, and obedience because we LOVE HIM. We really really love him. He knows and he sees. And the devil sees too, and he wants to destroy that. He wants to destroy anything and everything that is good, and then blame God and have us also to blame God for that. Jesus asked the question: But when the Son of Man returns, will he find faith on the earth? For years I wondered why he would ask such a question. Now I think I understand. That’s what the devil wants the most. It’s the crown. Our faith. Therefore, let us boast all the more gladly in our weaknesses, in order that Christ’s power may rest upon us. For when we are weak, then we are strong. God bless you, dear one. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Stand strong. Keep resisting the enemy to the end. The Lord be with you in all of your ways. Peace.

God bless you sister. The shield of faith quenches the fiery darts of the enemy. Trusting God in the depths of our trials is the faith that pleases God. After horrendous loss and torment, Job gets down on his knees and worships the Living God. The enemy wants to steal our testimony. He wants everyone to see it lying shattered in the street. Staying faithful to God and trusting Him and glorifying Him no matter what is our testimony. By the power of the Holy Spirit and our cooperation, we shall prevail……..bro Frank
