1Th 5:5 Ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Praise the Lord we are children of the light, not of the darkness and not of the night. While the world sleeps in darkness, the sons and daughters of the Lord are vigilant. Even now the world is being swamped with darkness and yet it is entirely unaware. Place a frog in tepid waters and it will be quite comfortable, then slowly turn up the heat and it will allow itself to be boiled to death. The world is at ease in Babylon yet quite suddenly, destruction will begin to rain down upon it and increase dramatically like “labor pains upon a pregnant woman.” It is pregnant with sin and its time is at hand. Yet we are told in the Scriptures that by virtue of the light that we walk in that none of these things shall overtake the children of God. We shall not be surprised when we see the destruction unfold because we can “see,” these things by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We know that whether we live or whether we die that we shall eternally be with our Lord. This is the comfort that Paul speaks of to the Thessalonians. No matter what kind of persecution we face, no matter how hard the trials or how great the suffering and tribulation, we walk in the light as He is in the light and we have fellowship one with another. This is our strength, this is our peace, this is our comfort when all hell breaks loose. Hell may break loose but praise the Lord we have been delivered from hell. Let us test all things and hold fast to what is good. And may the God of peace Himself sanctify us completely and may our whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ for He alone is faithful. (1Thess 5:23-24) Let us pray without ceasing.
