The false doctrine that has flooded Christendom

The NEW “EVANGELISM”
by A.W. Tozer

The new cross encourages a new and entirely different evangelistic
approach. The evangelist does not demand abnegation of the old
life before a new life can be received. He preaches not contrasts
but similarities. He seeks to key into public interest by showing
that Christianity makes no unpleasant demands; rather, it offers
the same thing the world does, only on a higher level. Whatever
the sin-mad world happens to be clamoring after at the moment
is cleverly shown to be the very thing the gospel offers, only the
religious product is better…

That evangelism which draws friendly parallels between the ways
of God and the ways of men is false to the Bible and cruel to the
souls of its hearers. The faith of Christ does not parallel the world,
it intersects it. In coming to Christ we do not bring our old life up
onto a higher plane; we leave it at the cross. The corn of wheat
must fall into the ground and die.

We who preach the gospel must not think of ourselves as public
relations agents sent to establish good will between Christ and
the world. We must not imagine ourselves commissioned to make
Christ acceptable to big business, the press, or the world of sports,
or modern education. We are not diplomats but prophets, and our
message is not a compromise but an ultimatum.

The demise of Christendom in the West

Posted by appolus on June 28, 2014

Society is changing at a rapid pace as many are aware. The goal posts of ” normal,” are constantly being moved in a never ending downward spiral. The old analogy of putting a frog in hot water and it will jump out, but put a frog in cold water and gradually heat it up and it will stay and die no longer really applies. The pace of spiritual demise has become frantic in the last few years. The enemy knows that time is short and that the Lord is coming back and so the heat is being turned up around the world in order to make way for the lawless one. And so, it is very clear now that ” normal,” depends upon the tone of the culture and Christendom at large is doing nothing to slow down the rapid downward cycle of society, quite the opposite in fact. The salt has lost its saltiness and the light, if it exists at all, is hidden. Much of the Evangelical world is simply a reflection of the world at large as it caters to the needs of it’s worldly adherents.

The Constantine Contamination- Kingdom saint? (part 1)

Posted by appolus on November 5, 2013

This article will be in two parts and will explore the effect that the Emperor Constantine had on the church worldΒ  then and as we know it today and how this relates to genuine Kingdom or remnant saints. So what is the title of this article asking? What does it mean to be either a Kingdom , pilgrim or remnant saint? All of these titles describe one person, the saint who walks in the Kingdom of God.Β  They come from every tribe, every tongue and every nation. They cross denominational lines. Their identity is established in Christ , not in men or men’s Kingdom.Β  The walk of such a saint is often a lonely walk.

In every century down through the ages, beginning with the death and resurrection of Jesus, we see this saint. He is a lover of the Truth and would rather die than deny this truth. He would rather walk this world alone than compromise the truth. His country cannot shake it, his friends cannot shake it nor even his family because while he may love all of these passionately , nothing even comes close to his passion for the Truth. He has been captured by it, bought by it, ruined for the things of this world by it.Β  Of course this truth of which I speak is the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father except by Him, the Lord Jesus Christ, ruler of the Kingdom of God.
