I am the weakest man.

Posted by appolus on January 15, 2021

Jdg 6:13 Oh my Lord, if the Lord is with us, then why has all this happened to us? And where are all the miracles which our Fathers told us about saying,”Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?” But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

After Gideon gets through with his complaints to God, the Lord speaks to him and says “Go in the might of yours and you shall save Israel-have I not sent you?” (v 14) You see how God refuses to take on board what Gideon has just complained about and again affirms His calling on Gideon’s life? Saints, take heart at this for God has called you. listen to how Gideon replies and see if this reflects your own heart. “How can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manassah and I am the least in my father’s house.” (v15) To which the Lord replies “Surely I will be with you.”

The Lord picked the weakest man from the weakest clan. It’s not about the man brothers and sisters, it’s about the God that goes with the man. If God is with us, who can be against us? This truly represents the remnant believers today. We are the weakest men and women. The reply that Gideon gave to God is the right reply in the right spirit. Without God we are nothing and can do nothing, but by the same token, when God is with us, and He says to Gideon “Surely I will be with you,’ then there is nothing we cannot do. This is the spirit of the genuine saints of God today. They acknowledge their own weaknesses. They have experienced failure and they know what it is like to feel abandoned, this has been a journey and it ends with them knowing their utter helplessness without God being with them.

I want you to remember who you serve this day. No matter what situation you face today, the God who created the whole universe and set the foundations of the earth and hung the stars in the heavens above is with you. For His will and for His good pleasure God has been working on you and He is faithful to complete that what He has started. God is raising up an end time Gideon’s army and filling its ranks with the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. Genuine saint, you are a mighty man of valour, you are a mighty woman of valour. What qualifies you to be counted in these ranks? God has called you, God is with you and God will equip you.

Yes when I am weak … and I am … then HE is strong! He is my strength and my song … HE has given us a battle plan. His armor of Truth, right doing, the shoes of peace shod on our feet holding us firm in HIM … the shield of faith … the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the rhema Word of GOD … we speak to the mountain by the authority of Jesus Christ.

Satan is after the children of GOD and we are in a battle … we haven’t seen anything yet. We are to fight from the point … the perspective of victory. We are assured of this through the cross of Jesus Christ. We look not at what we see but what is unseen … we know we are seated with Him in the heavenly throne room. “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” ( John 8) We must know the truth … we must saturate ourselves in the Book. Part of our battle plan is prayer …we are to be persistent and devoted to prayer. ( Colossians 4)

It is going to get so much darker in this country. We must be grounded in Christ … we must be able to withstand the schemes of Satan. We do not war against men and women but against the evil spirits that have them bound and doing their bidding … we are wither a conduit for Christ and the Kingdom of God or we are a conduit for the evil one. There is no middle ground. It seems everything that can be shaken is being shaken. My desire is to stand and when all I can do is stand … we must endure to the end to be saved. The Spirit says, ” There is coming much tribulation but those that stand in the shadow of My Presence will stand.”

    One of my favorite verses

    2 Cor 13:4
For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you
I remember once I was struggling so against everything in my flesh, I got on my face and cried out to the Lord and said “I CAN’T”!!! And it was as if I heard the Lord say “Thank you” =) “Now let me do it”
I became weak!! It was a good thing!!
    2 Cor 12:10
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong !

    Ps 55:22
Cast thy burden ( what has been given to you or set of circumstances you find yurself in) upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved
I was reminded about this verse and the Lord has sustained me (the recent loss of my daughter) I cry out to Him with this set of cicumstances that has been given and say to Him (or cast it upon Him) I can’t handle this Father ! He sustains me, I just wanted to share of the goodness of the Lord !

Taking pleasure in infirmities is truly a work of the Spirit in our lives. It is otherworldly and can only be arrived at by the power of the Holy Spirit and our obedience and love for God and the Truth. The disciples rejoiced to be counted worthy to suffer for His sake. This is truly the mark of one full of His Spirit, like Stephen……………….bro Frank
