The vineyard lies in ruins behind the walls

Posted by appolus on February 26, 2015

Mat 21:33-40 “Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. (34) Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit. (35) And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another. (36) Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them. (37) Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ (38) But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’ (39) So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. (40) “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”

Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees here. This must have incensed them as they realized He was talking about them and the people they led. God is the Landowner and the nation of Israel and its leaders were the vinedressers. Now it must be realized that God has also planted a church, the church was born at Pentecost. Just as the Lord was looking for fruit from ancient Israel, He is also looking for fruit from the church. God sent messengers and prophets to Israel and they abused them and treated the cruelly and killed them. Over the last 2000 years God has sent messengers and prophets to His church. Is there fruit behind the walls? Will He find faith on the earth? If He cut of the natural branches should that not give pause for thought to the branches that were grafted in? There is a harvest coming. The owner is coming back for what is His. Jesus’ first coming was the culmination of all the messengers and the prophets. His second coming will be heralded as well. The people and their leaders will be without excuse. God continually reaches out and exhorts and warns of that day that is to come for His love is without question and His long-suffering with a stiff-necked people is remarkable.

    Truth.

As this may be the nearest day to a harvest, however I find the harvest and revival different here!. The harvester has gathered in a gentile church to be grafted in to a Jewish tree. As wild as we are! the grafting only took place because they were the enemies of the cross for our sake. So our real brothers and sisters are arrogant prideful to this day and I’m very grateful of there hard stiff necked hearts. However I cant get this out of my heart and mind that these natural children are so dear to us Christians and an astonishing love for them seems so mysterious.

    Why?

    – The revival comes from the word revive – the latter day revival must come from whats left from a remnant of the gentile church- meaning our state of health spiritually is almost dead, a mere silent but still living heart beat in the faith, but still alive. Yes the church needs to be revived through a thorough repentance of our backslid-den state to complete one more real purpose in the calling of our heavenly father – (martyrdom), why this! – why the suffering? The Jews must see a pure definition of there God in the faces of the Gentile, a witnessing stand for the Truth to death. Yes and with Joy! The other gentiles type of martyrdom will be a type of Corrie Ten-boom ministry (protecting the Jewish people for a second Holocaust, Jacobs trouble/ 7 years (judgement or refining from Satan to break this stiff necked people to a humility that will see there God in our faces. The latter day harvest cannot be mistaken for a revival- the revival is a resuscitation back to a vigilant purpose driven last day church and the true harvest will be Jews who are rescued—– and as startled as they are!……. they mysteriously see in our faces the Messiah and receive resurrection Life.

HI Duncan, I believe the Body of Christ will be harvested out of Christendom and it will be for the purpose of martyrdom. God will pour our His Spirit in ways we have not seen on the saints of the age just prior to Christ’s return, we will need that kind of filling to deal with a world that will hate us with a perfect hatred and that will include and be led by the religious……………….bro Frank
