Signs of the end of the world

Posted by appolus on January 2, 2015

In Matthew 24 , on the Mount of Olives, the disciples ask Jesus what the signs of the end of the world would be. Jesus first warns them not to be deceived by man. He then tells them ” Nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in divers places, all these are birth pangs. Then they shall deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you and you shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.” (Matt 24:3-9)

In one short paragraph, the King of Kings looks down through the corridors of time and gives a sweeping lesson on what the future holds for mankind. Only God can speak like this and when He does we should be hanging on every word. What is birth pangs? If Jesus uses this example, it is definitely worth looking at and studying. Birth pangs is labor pains. In another translation the phrase ” the beginning of sorrows ,” is used. When a woman goes into labor, there are three stages.

1. Early or latent phase.
2. Active phase.
3. Transition phase.

The duration of the early phase is the longest, averaging around eight hours. The pain can be simple backache. You can still walk around, in fact that is sometimes more comfortable than sitting. Most woman spend these hours at home, or they can be checked into the hospital and sent home until labor becomes more active. Feeling of eagerness and excitement are not unusual. It is important at this stage that energy is conserved for the work of labor. Then comes the active phase. This is marked by regular contractions that become longer and stronger and closer together. When you are in active labor you will be concentrating on the task at hand and will not feel like doing anything else. Pain mediation is often given at this time.

After active labor comes the transition phase. This is the most difficult time of labor, and fortunately, this is the shortest period of time lasting from 30 minutes to two hours on average.Brothers and sisters I believe that we are in the early or latent phase of the birth pangs and are soon to shift over to the active phase. All of these phases are leading to the great tribulation. Jesus Himself said that after these phases we shall be delivered up to afflictions and we shall be killed and hated by all nations. Get ready saints, open up your spiritual eyes and see that there is a red sky in the mornings. These are the signs of the times and we should know in our spirits what the Spirit is saying to us.

There is a red sky in the morning
And its calling you and me
It is a heavenly warning
Of just how things are going to be

Behold the King is coming
And He is coming in the cloud
And every eye shall see Him
And every knee is bowed

And in those days, they’ll fall away
And the tribes of the earth shall mourn
They shall revile the precious Son
And upon His name pour scorn

And of that name which is above all names
They shall mock and they will deny
Yet every man shall see the Son
In His glory in the sky

There is no name under heaven
Bt which a man is saved
It’s the glorious name of Jesus
And the road to hell is paved

With well-intentioned people
Who fear man instead of God
Who have a form of Godliness
But deny the power therof

And so to some it may be nothing
To remove Christ from their name
But its a Christless Christianity
That will bring everlasting shame

Thank you dear brother for this word. The very first thing I notice here is the exhortation to not to be deceived by man. And certainly people have been deceived by various prophecy and end-time teachers without end. So many proofs, facts, signs, interpretations of those signs. Yes there are outward evidences He mentions (nations and empires rising up, famines, etc.). Yet the history of the world since He left have been replete with all of these things. So how are we to decode this? My sense is that the answer lies in his first statement. It is not from men you will know the times are upon you, it is from the Father, from the Spirit who will affirm this in your spirit. Yes you will know, but it will not because you follow some seemingly enlightened prophecy teacher, whoever they are. History has also seen many events and series of events that one would say perfectly match the hyper-intensifying birth process you describe. WW1, WW2 are perfect examples. Today’s headlines are filled with many outward “signs”, which of course make a lot of money for certain teachers, as they fill peoples hearts with fear and uncertainty. “Jesus first warns them not to be deceived by man” – Indeed.

By drawing close to Him in the spirit, we will know when the time is right. He will not deceive us. But we must be careful not to worry about “warning” his people. That is His job I believe, and we don’t want others following us anyway, but Him directly. He loses no one. We on the other hand can be deceived, and how many of us with pumped up with zeal have done this very thing if we are perfectly honest?

Now the world is witnessing many terrifying things at this moment that we have seen before. Beasts (empires) rising, hell-bent on war. We see the puppet-masters pulling the strings to align the world in the way they alone can profit from. Evil in the highest places is ascending. Man is lost, His science and technology and innovation have betrayed him, as only it could. All governments are hopelessly corrupt. Greed and Lust for Power drive everything towards destruction. The little ones – children, the poor, the sick, the widows and orphans are being mercilessly devoured. There is more slavery and despotism in the world today than ever before. Up is down, Good is evil, Evil is good. All is lies and deception. Religion has been unmasked for the man-serving the fraud that it really is. There is a thirst and a hunger in men’s souls that is going unquenched. The devil is seemingly winning. Many sincere hearts are confused and wondering.

If ever there was a time for God to show His face, I believe now is that very time. Let us pray He will bring us spiritually to the place where we can see His face and hear His voice.

Amen to these words of wisdom. I entirely agree that God will lay it upon the hearts of His people as the end of the ages unfold. Fear is certainly not of God and those who peddle in it, be they politicians or religious frauds , will ultimately be exposed. When the enemy comes in Luke a flood Gos will raise up a standard. I believe he is in the process of that now. Beginning stages to be sure, but Gods children are slowly coming forward……..bro Frank.

    Dear brother,

Thank you so much for your articles and your poetry. I am so glad I discovered your website.

I hope you don’t mind my enclosing a poem the Lord gave me last October; it is in a similar vein to yours.

    Here it is:

The Last Days are upon us

    The signs are all around

We need to be watchful unto prayer

And to firmly stand our ground.

Are our lamps all filled with oil

Are we awake and not asleep?

Are we looking for His coming,

Making sure a watch we keep?

    And are we telling others

Of His love and saving grace?

Are we crying out for them

As we gaze upon His face?

He longs that we would tell them

That for them, He came to die

That they may put their trust in Him

    And not believe the lie.

    For He’ll surely be returning

And that time will not be long

For us to meet Him in the air

    And join the heavenly throng.

So let’s not fear, my dear ones,

    Our redemption draweth nigh

We’ll soon look up and see Him,

    Coming in the sky.

Thank you again, dear brother. Here is the second poem:

Wake up, Church! He’s coming soon
And we must all be ready
Let’s put our hands to the plough, dear saints
        And keep our courses steady
Though the times are evil, the days so short
        We must not be distracted
There’s even yet more souls to reach
        Whose lives must be impacted
With the Gospel, the Word of Life,
So that when that trumpet’s sounded
Their faith and trust are firm in Him
        And cannot be confounded.
        And what of us?
When He returns, what will He find us doing?
Oh, how we need to redeem the time
And stop our to-ing and fro-ing!
Let’s make sure our lives are right
And we’ve forgiven those who’ve hurt us
For otherwise we’ll have no rest
        And satan disconcert us
As far as it depends on us
We must make our peace with others
        All His attributes display
        My sisters and my brothers
It won’t be long, dear brethren
        Until He comes again
And when that wondrous day arrives
        We’ll shout a loud Amen!
