The crisis of the age

Posted by appolus on April 19, 2013

In North America the word of God has been proclaimed probably more than any other nation on earth. There is such a low view of who God is across the west in general. Some kindly grandfather? a benevolent santa clause? A buddy?. Of course He is none of these things, He is high and lifted up, the train of His robe fills the temple, He is majestic in holiness, He is aweful, meaning full of awe. Those around His throne can only cry out “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God almighty.’ And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place: (for all the priests that were present were sanctified, and did not then wait by course: Also the Levites which were the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, being arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:) It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God. (2 Chron 5:11-14) Unless the people have an encounter with such a God, they will continue to have a low view of Him and worship some weak anemic cultural god of their own making. What cannot be learned by a thousand excellent sermons , can only be learned in the genuine presence of God.

In the Shadow of Jerusalem

Posted by appolus on March 21, 2013

In the shadow of Jerusalem
My Christ He died today
For you and I, He died alone
On the rugged cross He’d stay

He did not die within the walls
He died outside the gate
He died that you and I may live
To make the crooked path straight

He did not die a rich mans death
On Him our sins were cast
A thief on either side of Him
He gave up the Ghost at last

Now into the grave they put our Lord
Where all dead men are placed
Yet this was the mighty Son of God
Whom God Himself would raise

And on the third day He arose
And death had lost its sting
The grave had lost its power
Yet the earth had gained its King

All glory to the King of Kings
All hail Emmanuel
No power on earth could hold Him down
Not even the power of hell

The Lord our God is coming soon
He is coming for His own
And men from every tribe on earth
Shall gather round His throne

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord
Can you hear the angels sing?
All glory to the risen Lamb
All glory to the King

A vision of Christ above the clouds!

Posted by appolus on December 24, 2011

I can only imagine the glory of eternity in the presence of glorious majesty. I will sing and dance before my Lord in the beauty and awe of his holiness. And of his majesty there will be no end, His majesty is eternity and that’s what we shall dwell in. And its because of that, afflictions and trials of this world are light and momentary. Let not a complaining word fall from our lips, because we stand in the shadow of Calvary. And as we consider that the God of all eternity stepped into time and space, when such a great light fell from heaven above and brought joy and hope to a world of darkness, a world of separation, may we always remember the hope that was set before Him. That hope is the hope that is set before us.
