When shall the end come?

Posted by appolus on January 18, 2014

“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come”
(Matthew 24:14).

Many in the church today try to determine the nearness of Christ’s return by reading the signs of the times. We see such signs in specific; for example, the return of the Jews to Israel. Yet one of the clearest statements Jesus makes about His second coming is contained in the verse above. The end will come only after the gospel has been preached to all the nations as a testimony. The word that Jesus uses for ” witness,” in this verse is the same Greek word for ” testimony.” In short, He says the Gospel we preach is effective only if it is backed up by a life that testifies to its reality. ( David Wilkerson)

Do you see what David is saying here? It’s not about the Gospel preached, it’s about the Gospel lived. The Gospel lived out is a testimony to the power of Jesus to transform men into new creatures. It’s not so much the correctness of the doctrine, although doctrine is important, it’s about the reality of the witness. The genuine saint living a life empowered by Jesus is a witness to the world. Can we say that Christendom today is a witness to the world? In the average church in America, all the stats of the world on matters of divorce and such are simply the same. The world cannot tell the difference between themselves and Christianity. So, not only is there not a witness for Christ, there is a vehicle for mocking.

Is this the generation of the Beast? – Steve Gallagher

Posted by appolus on January 6, 2014

The post below is by Steve Gallagher, he is a good brother in the Lord whom I have met and my spirit witnessed with…….bro Frank

Every day we are inching toward the one-world government predicted by Scripture. But it is not biometric computer chips, the proliferation of surveillance cameras or the NSA’s spying on American citizens that has me concerned. What alarms me is a new mindset that is becoming entrenched in the world. I believe people are getting frightfully close to openly welcoming the “man of sin.”

One thing that has puzzled me over the years is how it could be possible for billions of people to willingly take the “mark of the beast” in spite of the fact that it has been foretold in Scripture. Yet, it seems that spiritual forces are quietly at work which are bringing people to the point of willingly yielding their souls to Satan.

To accomplish such a feat has entailed a decades-long scheme that has been both comprehensive and brilliant in its scope. Unquestionably, there are many factors at work, but I believe the two primary keys the enemy is fostering within humanity are Cynicism and Delusion.

Christendom has become a Labyrinth

Posted by appolus on January 4, 2014

Christendom has become a labyrinth. The faith has been split into a thousand little parts and you are made a heretic if there is one of them you do not accept….What can help? Only the one thing needful; return to Christ, looking to Christ as the only Leader, and walking in His footsteps, setting aside all other ways until we reach that goal, and have come to the unity of the faith (Eph. 4:13). As the Heavenly Master built everything on the grounds of the Scriptures, so should we leave all particularities of our special confessions and be satisfied with the revealed Word of God which belongs to us all. With the Bible in our hand we should cry ; I believe what God has revealed in this Book ; I will obediently keep His commands ; I hope for that which He has promised . Christians, give ear! There is only one Life, but Death comes to us in a thousand forms. There is only one Truth, but Error has a thousand forms. There is only one Christ, but a thousand Anti-Christs…..So thou knowest, O Christendom, what is the one thing needful. Either thou turnest back to Christ or thou goest to destruction like the Anti-Christ. If thou art wise and wilt live, follow the Leader of Life. But you, Christians, rejoice in your being caught up…hear the Words of your Heavenly leader , “Come unto me,’…..Answer with one voice, ” We come! (The Voice of the Morning , 1660)

There has been an ancient battle which will soon unveil itself once again. There are the genuine saints and then there are the religious, the people of the world. In the Reformation, Luther made a fatal mistake. He rejected the notion of a church of “believers,’ in favor of the State church. The State church gave aid and false comfort to the general population at large. It lulled them into a false sense of security, in effect it said “peace, peace, where there was no peace.” The State church today is represented by a thousand denominational and non-denominational churches. In the average church in America for instance, almost half of every congregation is divorced, yet the hirelings remain silent. Materialism and worldliness is rampant, yet again, silence. This modern church model is based on the Catholic model where the power lies in the hands of the priest, which we now call the minister or the pastor. It is true that he does not claim to turn the bread into the body of Jesus or the wine into His blood, but none-the less, the power resides within the one man, who relies on the people to put food on his table.

When this structure is swept away, then the genuine priesthood of believers will arise. This sleeping body of people will awake and walk in their giftings. Now Satan has always violently opposed the genuine witness of the the Lord Jesus here on this earth, and he has typically used the religious man and woman to do it, this tactic will not change. What now simmers under the surface, resentment of the religious man toward those who have a genuine faith and walk in the holiness of the Lord, will come boiling and bubbling to the surface and Satan will seek a “final solution, for the “Christian problem.” Yet, as the enemy comes in like a flood, so the Lord will raise up a standard, He will pour His Spirit out upon His children and they will walk in a biblical power that the world has not seen for a long time. The Lord always enables those that He calls, He equips us for what He calls us to do. And all of this is surely at the door. What will be the catalyst for this change? Only the Lord knows……………….brother Frank

A word for the New Year-Strength for the Battle

Posted by appolus on January 1, 2014

As I was walking and talking with the Lord today, He gave me a word for the coming year ” Strength for the battle.” God has been teaching His people how to survive in the wilderness, how to praise Him in the midst of the valley, how to find life where there only seems to be death. These teachings in the life of a believer are for a season or seasons. It is good to know that God hears us when we weep. It is good to know that oftentimes in our walk with the Lord  that we will face many different  types of persecution and adversity. There is a time for weeping and there is a strength and grace that comes in the very midst of  our trials. Yet, there is another kind of strength, there is an anointing for the battle. We see a spirit of indignation come upon David as he runs towards Goliath. We see this same Spirit after Ziklag is burned down and all the woman have been taken captive, after David dries his tears he gets up and pursues and overtakes the enemy, he takes the fight to the enemy.

I believe God is breathing that Spirit into His children. In Romans 8 we see this phrase in verse 2  ” Spirit of life,” and it is this Spirit of life that frees us from the law of sin and death. The Greek word for “Spirit,” is ” pnyoo-mah,” it literally means a current of air, a breeze, a breath. So another translation of that Scripture would be ” breath of life.” God breathes life into us. We see this when He creates us in the flesh in Genesis 2:7  And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and He breathed into his nostrils the ” breath of life,” and man became a living being.

In Romans we see that same breath of life being breathed into men of flesh who now have the life of the Spirit, the breath of life, spirutal beings as opposed to merely living beings. And with this wind, this breeze, this breath of God that blows spiritual life into His children’s souls, we see the culmination or Romans 8 when Paul tells us by the Spirit that we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. We are ready for the battle. Despite death and persecution and everything the enemy throws at us, nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. This is our strength for the battle ,the wind of the Spirit, the breath of life blowing into the sails of our souls and propelling us forward .

As God continues to draw back the veil this  coming year and exposes and shakes everything that can be shaken, He also breathes upon His children’s lives and this breath is the life of the Spirit. He is calling us forward, He is calling us upwards and onwards. There is a call to arms going on right now in the Spirit. The question now becomes for all of Christendom ” who will fight?” In order to fight we must be filled with the breath of God so that we can walk in the power of God. Can we cry out to Him this year ” Fill me Lord, breathe into me your life  that I may run to the battle.”

A Fundamental Shift

Posted by appolus on December 24, 2013

There is a fundamental shift taking place in our world. God is preparing His children for a paradigm shift in attitude towards them. For many generations in the west there has been a general accepting attitude of Christianity.

And He said to them, When I sent you without purse and wallet and sandals, did you lack anything? And they said, Nothing. And He said to them, But now, he who has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his wallet. And he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. Luk 22:35-36

When Jesus sent out His Disciples by twos, they encountered many blessings and walked in the miraculous. So much so that Jesus had to remind them sternly that they were not to rejoice in the fact that they had power over demons or signs and wonders but they were to rejoice in their salvation, a fact lost on many today. Salvation is always the focus of those who truly follow Jesus. Now in Luke 22 we see Jesus preparing His disciples for a sea change in attitude towards them. No longer would they find a warm and accepting attitude towards them, in fact quite the opposite.

Christendom has Despised Jesus

Posted by appolus on December 18, 2013

Now I realize that this is a provocative title, I make no apologies for that. In 2 Sam 12, we find King David in a very bad situation. He has committed adultery with Bathsheba, he tried to cover his tracks when she got pregnant, but a foreign convert , Uriah the Hittite , the husband of Bathsheba was more honorable that David. Therefore David’s attempts to cover up his adultery was foiled so David had him killed.

Brothers and sisters, this is such a low state for the man after God’s own heart. And after Nathan the prophet comes to David and exposes him, God speaks. God speaks brothers and sisters, one should be very afraid when God speaks, it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God. And here is the charge that God levels against David, His beloved. ” You have despised me.” ( 1 Sam 12:10) Can you imagine hearing that charge against you from God? Yet that is exactly what David heard.

50 year old prophecy from Tozer

Posted by appolus on October 29, 2013

PROPHETIC WORD FROM 50 YEARS AGO – A. W. TOZER

“Let me go out on a limb a little bit and prophesy. I see the time coming
when all the holy men whose eyes have been opened by the Holy Spirit will
desert worldly Evangelicalism, one by one. The house will be left desolate
and there will not be a man of God, a man in whom the Holy Spirit dwells,
left among them.

I hear Jesus saying…Mat 23:37-38: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing
the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her, how often would I have
gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her
wings, and you would not! Behold, your house is left to you desolate”

As the Church now stands, the man who sees this condition of worldly
evangelicalism is written off as somewhat fanatical. But the day is coming
when the house will be left desolate and there will not be a man of God
among them. I would like to live long enough to watch this develop and see
how things turn out. I would like to live to see the time when the men and
woman of God-holy, separated and spiritually enlightened-walk out of the
evangelical church and form a group of their own; when they get off the
sinking ship and let her go down in the brackish and worldliness and form a
new ark to ride out the storm”

Who are the multitude from the Great Tribulation ?

Posted by appolus on May 31, 2013

Who is this great multitude that is referred to in Rev 7:9-16 ? So we see this great multitude, and they are standing before the throne of the Living God dressed with white robes and crying out praises to God who sits upon the throne and unto the Lamb. Can I suggest that this great multitude is God’s remnant children who, in all possibility, could be this very generation. Now I realize that this possibility does great damage to those of the pre-tribulation persuasion, but the truth is the truth.

The presence of God and the Lordship of Jesus in meetings.

Posted by appolus on February 17, 2013

Brother Greg  Gordon asked me earlier this week to come on and speak on a national prayer call called ” prayer surge” about my burden for the presence of God and the headship of the Lord as He is allowed His rightful place in meetings. Now I have to be honest, this is a subject that when I have shared that I have never failed to alienate some folks . These couple of subjects are like a mine-field because we really do not even have a working definition of what the presence of God is. And so before I speak about the Lord having His rightful place in meetings and how that actually ties in with the presence of God, let me define the term “ presence of God,’ as I see it and as I have experienced it and what I believe the Holy Spirit would say through me. I would like to start out by reading a letter I received from one of my readers and this would perhaps illustrate one of the reasons that I am involved with Gospel fellowship meetings and other meetings seeking to bring together what I would call remnant believers. And so the lady writes to me and says ………

The church on the run-Martin Collison

Posted by appolus on February 7, 2013

The attached photo marks the spot where General George Armstrong Custer fell at the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876, which I photographed during a trip late last year to the battlefield.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It was impressed upon me during this visit how vitally important it is to get those important strategic decisions right in our own life and indeed within the corporate life of the church, assuming we want the things in place in our lives that Christ wants. This rests in our ability, both individually and corporately, to “see the bigger picture”. Sadly, whilst occasionally talking about the bigger picture, the church consistently fails to stay on any course which will actually lead her in the direction of Christ Himself. You see, the single most critical strategic work of the Holy Spirit in these days is the preparation of the Bride of Christ and for the church to come into the fullness of the stature of Christ. This is the bigger picture. The desire of Jesus to have a pure and spotless Bride is His overriding and all-consuming passion. It super-cedes every other work and process. Everything we do should be geared towards this.

A letter to America from an immigrant

Posted by appolus on February 5, 2013

You welcomed me with open arms
Protected me from many harms
I found in you a warm embrace
I would find this in no other place

It did not matter, the social classes
For you invited the huddled masses
And in a world that was ruled by greed
Yours was a land to plant ones seed

America you took me in
And now my journey could begin
Born and bred in poverty
You opened doors and set me free

A word to God’s remnant-The spirit of Gideon

Posted by appolus on January 9, 2013

Now in the days of Gideon, a time of judgement, the Midianites and the Amikalites oppressed the children of God. No matter what the Israelites planted, they never got to see the fruits of their labor. The Midianites and the Amakilites would come in like locusts and devour and take everything. And so, Israel was greatly impoverished. Can I suggest that we face the same landscape and problems in Christendom today? We are impoverished spiritually and financially and no matter the work done, it is consumed by the idols and the enemy which seems to be all around us like locusts.

Now, in their distress, the children of Israel cried out to God for a deliverer, and the Lord sent them a prophet. The prophet reminded them of God’s faithfulness and how they had rejected Him (Jud 6:8-10) Now, at God’s appointed time, when all is desolate, He speaks to Gideon who was threshing wheat in the wine-press in an effort to hide his activities from their oppressors.(6-11) “The Lord is with you mighty man of valor.” You see how God is calling what is not as it would be. Hiding from your enemies in a defunct wine=press in an effort to get some bread is hardly the stuff of valor. Brothers and sisters, I want you to see Gideon as a type of the Remnant God is in the process of raising up right now. Do not focus on the 300 as of yet, for that is still a ways off. We as people are not ready yet. Listen to what Gideon says to the Lord.

The Remnant Church and the End-Time Testimony of Jesus Christ

Posted by appolus on October 28, 2012

The Remnant church is, at it’s core and most fundamentally, God’s witness here on earth. Truly we have been called first and foremost to be a witness. Now most saints know that this word in its Greek form translates to martyr. Does that mean that every saint, every witness since the beginning of the church has been called to martyrdom? Certainly not. Yet let us not forget brothers and sisters that in every century God’s people here on earth have been persecuted and martyred for their faith. The danger for us saints in the Western world in the last 100 years has been that we have not been so-called. Other saints around the world cannot say that, whether that is Africa or Asia or China or the Middle East, they have continued to be persecuted and martyred for their faith. For most of Europe and North America, this has not been the case with some noticeable exceptions during periods of war and so on. Now, one would imagine that living in an atmosphere where one is allowed to worship freely without any state or religious interference that Christendom would thrive, yet, if we look at the state of Europe and North America we see something that at best, is a shallow faith. In the case of Europe we definitely see a post Christian society. In North America what is predominant is a cultural Christianity, a cross-less Christianity and a Christ-less Christianity and some cross-pollination or in many cases a hybrid of the all of these. Cultural Christianity would be a Christianity that is simply shaped to suit our culture. In this kind of Christianity Jesus would rarely be mentioned and God would be seen as some kind of Santa Claus. A cross-less Christianity would cover movements like the prosperity gospel, name it and claim it groups, Word of faith believers and health and wealth believers. Or again, a hybrid of all three. A Christ less Christianity would cover dead denominations for whom the Word of God has ceased to be authoritative even in pretense and where all things are acceptable, this would include things like gay marriage and gay ministers, abortion, divorce and so on.

Coming persecution and the Glory of God

Posted by appolus on October 9, 2012

This is one of the most powerful sermons you will hear. It is prophetic and it is timely and it encapsulates everything I try and convey here on my website. Brian is my dearest friend and my brother in Christ and our hearts are absolutely knitted in all matters but especially these matters of what it means to part of the remnant church of Christ and how the Lord God is raising up His people for such a time as this. Please take and share this message with everyone you know and love………bro Frank

The role of the Remnant church in the last days

Posted by appolus on September 26, 2012

The Remnant’s role has changed down through the centuries, but always at her core she has been called to be a witness, an eye-witness to Gods glory. This is the essential heartbeat of Gods Remnant bride and always will be. In this role she has been used as a sanctuary, the sanctuary, the Holy of Holy’s. She is a tabernacle in the wilderness, she is Gods temple here on earth. She is a place for the weary and the lost and forsaken. At the same time she has always been despised by the religious spirit. These are people who confess God with their mouths but who have not received God’s glory, who have never encountered the glory of the living God. In these last days God has a special role for His Remnant people and of course this will only increase the hatred by those of the religious spirit. God says in His word through His prophet Zechariah that ” In that last day a fountain shall be opened up for the house of David,” and God Himself says again through the prophet that ( speaking of Christendom) “Two thirds in it shall be cut off and die. But one-third shall be left in it. I will bring the one-third through the fire, I will refine them as silver is refined and test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name and I will answer them. I will say ” This is my people.” (Zec 13:8-9)

Lambs to the Slaughter

Posted by appolus on August 11, 2012

Your world view, your view of your nation is going to determine your point of view. It will be the lens that you view events through and the filter through which you pray. What are the goals of your prayers for your nation? Do you seek to see it ” turned around?” What about your culture, do you want to see it saved or preserved? Your way of life, your goals and aspirations for yourself, your children and your grandchildren, and they dependent upon the state of the economy or the state of the culture or the state of the nation?

Worn out Christendom- Steve Gallagher

Posted by appolus on August 8, 2012

I think most believers would agree that the Antichrist is alive at this very hour. Somewhere on our planet—probably in the European Commonwealth—he is living out his selfish existence; becoming increasingly swollen with pride; flattering and manipulating others into helping him fulfill the insatiable ambitions of his monstrous ego.

Getting ready to fight the good fight?

Posted by appolus on July 18, 2012

Dear brothers and sisters, I pointed out in a previous post that the five virgins who ” went in,” were those who were found to be ready. What does it really mean to get ready. For the purposes of what i am writing, first of  all you would have to accept that there is a coming storm. If you lived in Florida and you knew there was a hurricane coming, would you go about business as usual? If for whatever reason, the President was coming to visit your house next week, would your house look the way it typically looks? Would you not prepare? If you knew your master was returning, would you not prepare? Of course you would have to believe that He was coming and coming soon.

Who will stand in that day?

Posted by appolus on July 10, 2012

Hi Saints. The time is coming soon for the great separation that Jesus spoke of in the end times. In fact I believe that it is already in its beginning stages. Now what causes this great separation? How are sheep separated from goats? How are wheat separated from tares? How are the virgins with oil separated from those who have none? We see that in Mat 25:10 Jesus says “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.”

The great persecution that is soon to come upon the Church

Posted by appolus on June 24, 2012

Hi Saints, I would like to speak about a subject that really has been the driving force behind much of what I have written in the last few years and this piece will be of no surprise to those who have read even a small amount of what I have written on this site. Obviously I am not of the pre-trib rapture position. And that is the last you will hear me mention any such phrases because I believe if we use certain phrases then we simply get pigeon- holed. Enough to say that I would soundly reject the very premise of the ” Left behind” series. We will go through the great tribulation and we will suffer and most of us who are alive at that time will be martyred.
