The prodigal rebel

prodigal 2prodigal 1Isa 1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

Maybe you are the parent or parents of a rebellious child? You heart has literally been broken by the path you son or daughter has taken. You have anguished long and hard and looked deep within yourself to see why such a thing has happened. Perhaps you were not the perfect parent, maybe you yourself were not raised by the perfect parent? God has seen your tears and has witnessed your many sleepless nights. He has heard your cries for forgiveness for things that may have contributed to the situation. Can I tell you that God dwells with the broken and the contrite? He does not dwell with the proud or the self-righteous. The man that could not even raise his head is the man that goes down the hill justified in the parable.
