The Remnant call

Posted by appolus on March 30, 2013

The time is coming when warriors will arise all over the world, and indeed has begun. Our weapons will not be the weapons of the world, we will not battle against flesh and blood, but we will be fearless warriors for God, despite increasing persecution. Many times in centuries past Christians in Scotland have stood against authorities, principalities and powers and paid the price with their lives. Indeed, saints from every nation and from every century have been willing to pay the price, even it was their very lives.Yet, what is death to the warrior born of God? He is already dead to this world and alive to the next. There is a growing movement around the world of hungry and thirsty children of God that He has driven into the desert. This will be the last great move of God. There will be new wine poured out, but not into old wineskins. This Remnant will come from every kind of background, the common denominator will be their hunger and thirst for the genuine presence of the Living God. If you are a saint in the wilderness, hang in there, God is teaching you complete dependence upon Him by stripping away every form of support that you know All that will be left will be you, God and the Remnant. Do not be discouraged by your situation or your circumstances, yield to them. You know that you are lonely, you know that you do not seem to fit in anywhere. You get no pleasure from anything anymore. You have lost your interest in the things of the world. What passes for “normal,” church has become a foul stench to you. You can see with your spiritual eyes that there is a crisis, but few seem to see it. Business as usual is no longer an option for you, but you do not know where to go. No one seems to understand you. When you try and explain they just look at you like you are mad. You are not mad. God is calling you out.God is calling His people out. The Lord is beginning to gather the saints together for His purposes. So stay close to God, stay in His Word. If you can find like-minded brothers and sisters, that is good, because even where two or three are gathered, He is there in our midst, but do not be discouraged if you cannot, just wait upon the Lord. He is doing a new thing. Read all of Isa 43, but know this..Isa 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Thank you! We need to bind together in any way we can. I am glad we have this community of believers here as well as what we still have through our church and family and friends in fellowship with Christ!

Yes indeed, fellowshipping together with Christ is the Church. The Lord Jesus must be preeminent in all that we do………….bro Frank

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign those of his household. (Matt 10:24-25)

I love how our Master never minced words; He never softened His approach to appeal to our religious or emotional sensitivities; He never misrepresented or underplayed what is truly involved in following Him in a way that is acceptable to Him. He explicitly revealed the cost, that it would be exorbitant, that in order to be worthy of Him, in order to be be “all in”, we needed to first come “all out.”

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (Matt 10:34-39)

Our dear brother Frank is very much the same, and for this I thank the Lord for him, for these words, that, though hard, are true to the narrow path we have been called down.

No I am not worthy of Him, oh how He knows this. I am still trying to let go, to let Him be the all in all in my life, to let Him be my life. The wine of this old life has to run out before He can fill it with something better, “to be a partake of the divine nature” is how I think Peter put it.

Now I have been spending time in this strange little letter from Jude, and I dare say I don’t understand most of it, but notice how it ends –

But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Interesting that so many feel it is the remnant that causes division by insisting on being true to the Lord, as least as they understand it. Jude says it is these scoffers, these naysayers who actually cause a good deal of division. We say we must drink of His cup, and be baptized in His baptism in order to enter into His life. Yet they say these are extreme words, hard words, words that will prevent many from coming to Him (by this they generally mean their group or church).

Dear ones, Jesus said that there is a special blessing to those who minister from their hearts to spiritual orphans and widows, to those who give drink of water to one is who suffering for His sake. He also talked about a prophets reward. There are many of us out here who are spiritual lonely, as Frank suggested, many who live one day at a time struggling to find a place, taking a few steps towards the world only to find that it doesn’t have a place for them. Many of use who find ourselves in the cave like David or Elijah, enduring the howling silence of a solitary existence, leaning to hear what He might tell us in the darkness. I could not have captured the vivid reality of this as well as our dear brother has in this message. It is me, and you, and all those who have seen something that has changed us forever. We sometimes, in our despair, try to go back, we even want to go back, but we have sen too much it seems, we have wept too many of His tears, we have touched His heart, and so we are spoiled for this world.

Oh dear ones, how He loves us so, how He wants us as a dear thing to His heart. So we must go on, we must remain steadfast. We must endure with a patient longsuffering love that He might have the full reward of His suffering (this is His bride way the way, in case you ever wondered). His Father will reward Him with the greatest gift He can bestow upon His Son – a companion worthy of Him, a lover of His soul, a helper and completer that will never ever forsake Him.

Oh my brother, thank the Lord for you. You have shared in the light what you have heard in the darkness. The stripes on your back brings life to us and for this I love you dear brother. He was cut open and the blood and the water, the life poured out. This is the way it flows form one to another, out from open wounds, from tremendous pain and agony, death bringing forth newness of life. A seed falling to the warn earth and breaking open to reveal something living inside, bringing forth fruit of the Tree of Life.

Rahab the harlot forsook her secure, walled existence to make room for the will of the one true God. She forsook her people, her family, her identity to be joined to these Isrealites. She was a remnant born of faith, born of the unseen future. Despite her sordid history, her personal failings, she stood up to be counted among the people of God. This story is replayed over ad over and over in the Scriptures, from Abel, to Enoch, to Noah, to Jacob, to Moses, to David, to Elijah, to Jeremiah, to Nehemiah, to the 12 disciples, to Paul, to our brother Frank, to you and even to me (god willing).

    “Not worthy of Me”

No Lord, I am not, not even on my best days. No Lord….

But I do so very much want to be, as do every one reading these words I suppose. That is the cry of our heart Lord.

But it so so much, it is too much some days. You said to count the cost, to consider the journey and whether we have enough to finish. But You also said you are the Author and Finisher of our faith, You are the Alpha and Omega. Oh Lord, please, please be our beginning, our middle and our end Oh Lord. Please. Apart from You we can do, and are nothing.

Dear brother, as with so many of your replies, they should be a post in and of themselves. This truth has been so painfully revealed to you brother and you write with such truth and clarity. I love you for that brother, we are kindred men with scars upon our backs and also wounds, that, if men could see them in the flesh they would fall back in horror. Let these marks be a sign of honor and priveledge. If we have been counted worthy, even to a small degree to enter into some of His sufferings, then we are honored men indeed……………….bro Frank

      Dear saints,

I do not know what I can add to what has already been written, but I will give a hearty Amen and Amen from the very depths of my hungry and thirsty heart. One thought that I have had recently is that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Just as under the Old Covenant the people of God warred against their physical enemies we who are now the spiritual Israel and people of God are to war against our spiritual enemies. For all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God and we who are being saved were once dead in our trespasses and sins “in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.” Let us be imitators of God and love the brethren and do good to those who hate us, use us and persecute us.

God has always been zealous for a people for His OWN possession a people of zealous of good works. He being our God and we being His people and His building (i.e., temple) where He dwells in us, walks in us and lives through us. He has gone to great lengths in given His only dear Son and yet it pleased the Father to CRUSH His Son so that He might be the first in EVERYTHING. The Holy Spirit inspired scriptures describe this work best as follows:

“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven” (Col. 1:13-20).

So dear saints, let us encourage one another DAILY lest any root of bitterness spring up and defile many. “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion in the far north, The city of the great King.”

We are the city of the great King and may He come quickly to fill His temple, not in a measure but in all His FULNESS.

Love in the name of Giver of Life and the Only Begotten of God who is full of grace and truth,

      Kenneth and Bia

Indeed brother, our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places. These forces will come against God’s remnant children with a fury. I have been involved in such a battle just in the last two weeks. The greatest enemy to God’s remnant children is the religious man. He comes cloaked in false humilty and speaks with pious tones. Yet, even here we must and are called to love and forgive our enemies less Satan gains some ground in us. We must be passionate lovers of the truth and follow that wherever it leads us. We see today religious men everywhere who are willing to dispense with truth in order to maintain their position, and of course this has always been the stance of the religious man. They do this because they love the preeminence. That is why, for example, religious leaders will embrace gay marriage because in order to embrace the truth they would lose their standing before men and before the world. Yet the only standing that counts is how we stand before our Lord in the light of His truth. All down through the centuries, Gods remnant children refuse to budge, even an inch on the truth, even to save their lives. That is how passionate they were for the truth. This is what you will always see in God’s children. Totally abandoned to the truth, even if they were to lose close friend because of it. The two great examples of either side of this issue is the Pharisee on one side, who, to maintain their position killed the truth, and the martyr on the other side who loved not their own lives even unto death for the cause of Truth. This lesson must be burned into our souls and all the more because of the days we live in. If man compromises on the truth now, today, what will he do when true persecution comes? We must be faithful in the little things, there are no white lies, no small hidden things, we must be uncompromising men of God with integrity. When the wolf comes, the hireling runs, but the shephard stands his ground, even laying down his life for the sheep, or truth and of course, our Lord and Savior Jesus is the way and the Truth and is our life……………………………bro Frank
