Prayer Conference Call

Posted by appolus on January 18, 2010

Hi Guys. I know from experience and from the feedback that I have had from the many posts that there are a lot of lonely Christians out there for various reasons, many of which we have discussed on those posts. I just wanted to let you know that every Tuesday evening we have a prayer conference call. Saints from all over America and Canada come together and pray. The format is pretty simple. Someone leads out in a short little sermonette or teaching, for maybe ten minutes, then we pray. Now, you don’t have to pray, you can just listen, no one will even know that your on. You can press *1 and you are muted. Or you can pray or read out a Scripture. Here are the details of the call……7 PM Pacific Time. (8 PM Mountain, 9 PM Central, or 10 PM
Eastern) you can simply call this number: 1-218-339-2222 . And when
promoted enter this code: Pray or(7729 #) This will get you into the live prayer meeting where you can pray for revival. Call in 5 minutes
before the specified time. For those who would like to, you can call in early and praise God in prayer or in Scripture or both.Maybe you have never called in before, you do not have to pray or speak, you can just listen and be blessed……..Frank

    Pray for me Frank,

Right now, I’m a bit overwhelmed with finding a job. What I really need is to remember to join this conference call, and focus on what really matters, His kingdon come, His will be done. The last time I got laid off was July 2009, and the economy looked the worst it ever has for Silicon Valley. At that time, I meditated in John 15 for a month, asked for a job, and got hired – that simple. As I meditate on John 15 now, I am very aware that this time, God is also pruning. The word actually means “cleanse”, but, I know what God is rooting out, so it definately feels like pruning. My wife also has a cyst in her ovary. My daughter’s car accident insurance settlement case, now has suddenly turned into a potential full court blowout, so we may need to hire a lawyer. It’s all hitting me at once, and I’m finding it hard to focus on seeking first His kingdom. BUT, I MUST. So, please help by prayer for my family, and that God doesn’t let me miss the confernce call.

Please do join us brother. Brother Andrew Strom led out this Tuesday and was a great blessing. I will be praying for you and your wife brother. The enemy often comes in like a flood and of course the Lord will raise up a standard. He prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies. I will pray that even in the midst of these storms that you will be able to focus on HIm and praise Him. When the enemy had taken the Israelites into captivity and had them by the rivers of Babylon, they taunted and said “lets hear your songs of victory now.’ Then the children of Israel “hung their harps on the willow trees.” They could not praise God. I believe that the same enemy comes at us in times of great stress and taunts us with the same taunt. The Lord inhabits the praises of His people. The joy of the Lord is our strength , and therefore the robber comes to rob our praises and our joy. I will pray brother that you will be able to put on a garment of praise for a spirit of heaviness. God bless you Ediie……………brother Frank

Do we have a way to follow up these prayer meetings with comments like this? It seems to me that God was speaking to us at the conference call prayer meeting. We ought to be following up, like in Malachi 3:16 “Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard [it], and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts…”.

Being new to the group, I didn’t want to impose, so felt that just listening promoted better unity. After more reflection, I’d wish to remind us that God puts His treasure in earthen vessels, that the glory of the power may be His (2 Cor 4:7). “Like as a father pitieth [ his ] children , [so] the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we [are] dust. (Ps 103: 13-14). We ask Him to search our hearts, because (at least it seems to me), He’s always going to find something there to correct. It’s just a matter of God’s timing, before He decides it’s time to peel back more of the onion, so to speak. Being in need of grace and mercy is the very posture of prayer, and yet, we are to come boldly (Heb 4:16). In the face of all our obvious shortcomings, we are to come boldly, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.” (Heb 4:15). We come to the Father based upon Christ’s merits, not our own, and therein cannot fail. So yes, we all need mercy, yet this is the very pinnacle of our victory in Him.
