A vision…Harvest or Civil War

Posted by appolus on September 6, 2009

This post is the vision that the previous post made reference too. I would urge you to read this with care and lift up your eyes and see where we are right now. The distractions that we are in the middle of right now are part and parcel of a greater plan by the ant-christ to get the believers eyes of Jesus and onto the things of the world.  What war do you want to be a part of. I have added Scriptures to the end of this post to help you undersatnd what God says about these matters. Remember, this world changes constantly, but the Word of God never changes. No matter how pressing the issues seem to be, trust in God and His unchanging Word. God knew all of the circumstances down through the ages when He wrote His word, therefore we must follow the word of God . It may not always make sense but this narrow way finds only a few, be obedient to Him and do not be distracted by the “pressing issues ,” of the day and you will stay on the narrow path that leads right through the mountains and deep, deep valleys, but it also leads us through the harvest fields and home to Jesus.

A VISION – HARVEST or CIVIL WAR?
-by Robert Holmes.

To fight or not to fight, that is the question. Or rather, to fight
this enemy or that. There is a battle Christians all need to wage
against the enemy of our souls, the enemy of the church – Satan.
But there are many other skirmishes and insidious battles being
fought by the brethren. These are the skirmishes of church warfare.
There are lines drawn between this movement and that, between
this crowd and that, battles being fought to divide the church…

But the Bible teaches us that we should not skirmish and rail against
flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers of the air, who influence
and affect our brethren (Eph 6:12). We are to take up the shield of
faith with the sword of the spirit and join God’s warriors fighting a
common enemy (Eph 6:16-17). I have asked myself why we are
led to divide the church, why we go into battle when we should be
building the kingdom…

A PICTURE of WAR

I had an open vision in early September 1997 that showed me a
startling reality of what is happening right now in the church. A
cinema style video opened up before me as I was praying one
evening. I saw a black and white film, which looked like it was made
in the 1940’s. It began on a farm. Dozens of men were working in
the fields, preparing instruments for the harvest. Then suddenly,
they began to leave the fields and walk toward a railway line. Trains
pulled up with streams, banners and a band playing. Many of the
men climbed aboard to go off to war.

The scene panned back to the field where many shovels, spades,
forks, scythes and machinery had been left idle on the ground.
Before me was a vast harvest of wheat, with scarcely no one left to
work the fields!

The scene changed and I saw women and children learning in various
schools and colleges. There were women learning trades and how
to operate machinery, children at lathes learning woodwork and
smaller children learning at school. So many women and children
had been left behind as their men went off to war. They had to learn
how to survive and remain productive without them.

The vision closed with a picture of a lone man standing in the field.
Behind him lay all the discarded tools of the harvest, before him
was a huge field of wheat. He did not look perplexed or dismayed –
he simply prayed God’s blessing and began to work.

The HARVEST

I ask you, is God’s agenda for us to lay down our tools of harvest
and run off to war? I know for sure a battle is raging, there is no
doubt of that! Indeed the enemy comes to devour our harvest, he
comes like a plague of locusts to eat the crops and steal the seed
before it can germinate. It is true we must fight, and fight hard
against the devil today, but let me ask you – what war are you
running off to fight? Where is our focus?

“Do you not say, ‘Four months more, then comes the harvest’? But
I tell you, look around you, and see how the fields are ripe for
harvesting. The reaper is already receiving wages and is gathering
fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together.”
(John 4:34-36).

WHERE is OUR FOCUS?

The rumble of an exciting opportunity to go off to war resounds
across the land. These days we run, leaving the weak and the
young behind to do the productive work. We want to glory in the
temporal, while Christ is working the eternal. We are putting down
our tools, and taking up guns and weapons…. And there is Christ,
standing alone in the fields crying, “These fields are ripe unto the
harvest, pray for labourers”.

Where are you going Christian? What is consuming your energy
right now?… Are you one to run off and join the train, the band, the
noise, the army gathering or will you stay and fight for the harvest?
Will you join those who devour the land before them or strike at the
plans of Satan to destroy the church? God is preparing a harvest,
lift up your eyes and see the work it ready to be done! Behold the
fields are ripe unto the harvest and the reaper is already collecting
his wages.

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. [8] And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. [9] If any man have an ear, let him hear. [10] He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Rev. 14:12-13
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. [13] And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Ephes. 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Matthew 16:17
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

2 Cor. 10:3-6
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: [4] (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) [5] Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; [6] And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Col. 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. [2] Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Col. 3:8-17
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. [9] Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; [10] And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: [11] Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. [12] Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; [13] Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. [14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. [15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. [16] Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. [17] And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. [35] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Luke 10:2
Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Brother Shankar. God bless you. To see the danger of taking our eyes of Jesus even in matters such as your daughter is to have a deep insight into the very nature of what it means to keep our gaze on HIm, to come into His presence, to be busy only with going aout His business. I lost my first son, my second son was burned 60@, third degree burns and my third son has Down Syndrom and he had other life threatening illnesses which have required major surgeries. Despite all of that, my identity is not in the fact that I am a father of a mentally handicapped son, my identity is in the fact that I am a son of the Living God. When I ponder on the pain and suffering valleys that I have passsed through, I know that none compares to the deepest valley of all, the valley that led to Calvary. One of my very good friends, had five children, three with a syndrome that rendered them without speech, wheelchair bound and the youngest who never left his bed and never uttered even a cry. This was one of the deepest man of Christ that I have ever known, him and his wife. They had learned the secret of the deep and dark valley. God’s rod and staff comforted them and he made them lie down in greem pastures. The surrendered and yielded to their situation and they were overcomers. Did this mean that they did not have moments, days, weeks, sometimes months of particular struggles? No. Yet they never stopped overcoming. They always got up again by the power of Jesus, even although they been knocked down so many times. And every time they got up they were just that small bit stronger people of faith, not because of their faithfulness, but because of His. They learned that no matter what, God, was , ulitmately, always there for them. These people, and you brother, qualify to be Scottish warriors for Christ 🙂 This is what it means to me to be a warrior for Christ. To fight the good fight, to stand firm in the midst of circumstances and to know that you only stand because of Him. I pray brother for your continued steadfastness , and that God may be glorified in the process, for we know that when we are weak, He is strong, He is glorified in our weaknesses and oh that we would boast in our infirmities that Christ may be glorified in every part of our lives…………….Frank

Dear brother, such a joy to see fellow brethren going through the same sufferings and encouragement to each one. Mine taking eyes off Jesus is not certainly walking away from him or forget him and plunge into the world. Luke 7:47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.” I know from where He picked me up. sometimes it overwhelmes me. just sitting quitely in a corner looking at each other my wife and myself or probably reasoning out each other. Then the word impresses upon my heart”where can i go from from your presence? thats where i understood the meaning of this scripture from 2 corinthians 1:9 Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead. even when we are faithless He is faithful to revive me in many circumstances. It is not our ability or our strength, it is God one who gives me strength that we may put to death every work of the flesh and walk in the newness of life.
2 Corinthians 1:4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. Today he comforted me through you. Brother in this i am confident that we are united in one Spirit in One Lord. I would love to know the name of the other brother you mentioned and his children and the names of your children so that i may keep all of you in prayers. we assemble every friday night for night prayers. send me an email with those particulars. God bless you brother a son of encouragement in the Lord.

  2. Where are you going Christian? What is consuming your energy right now?…

Jesus spoke to his disciples, and, in particular, Peter, in Matthew 16: 21-23 (not too long after verse 17),

From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. 22 Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.” 23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.”

Paul exhorts us towards these things (eternal things, not temporal):

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I HAVE FOUGHT THE GOOD FIGHT (as he was led by the Spirit, not churchianity), I HAVE FINISHED THE COURSE (according the Lord’s will, not religious man’s), I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH (in the Gospel of our Lord); 8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
    (2Timothy 4: 3-9)

I believe our life now is a preparation for the age to come: the age and reign of our Lord in Glory. If we’re all wrapped up in Christendom’s misinterpretation of scripture (“saving the world, for Christ” and keeping democracy safe, for instance), then we will not have kept the faith, fought the good fight, and run the race as to win!

Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. 17 For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are TEMPORAL (“passing away”), but the things which are not seen are ETERNAL. (2 Corinthians 4: 16-19)

Great post. I hope many will not just read but also seek what the Lord is saying here!

    *******

    To Shankar,

I will pray for your daughter and you. The Lord is always with us, but we can experience Him even more so when we are suffering trials. But they still hurt!! Be assured that the Lord is working something in this!
