One day at a time?

Have you been asking God what He is going to do? He will never tell you. God does not tell you what He is going to do-He reveals to you who He is-Oswald Chambers. A good brother quoted that tonight and it was timely for me because I have been thinking about that very subject. If we truly accepted that and surrendered to that and yielded our all to that, there would be many so called prophets ( small p deliberately) out of business.
It would mean that we would not need to know what is around the next bend, we would just need to know Jesus. If we were to truly live out our lives as the Lord commanded us to, to live one day at a time and take no concern for tomorrow, if we actually lived that way it would revolutionize everything. All of our fears would be driven out as we simply walked with Him. Every situation would be one more masterclass in who He is in our lives.
If the truth be told, our desire to know what is coming is based entirely on fear and insecurity. It is why witch doctors are still in business. The same for mediums and horoscopes and fortune tellers. If you closed your eyes right now and imagined living one day at a time and never being overcome by fear again, can you imagine what that would even look like?
This is a foundational part of walking in the Kingdom. Sanctification sets us apart and separates us. Not just from the things of the world but from fears and anxiety. While we still fear and worry about the things that the gentiles fear we still have one foot in the world. The Lord calls us to enter into a place where we have ceased from our works.

Maybe the problem comes because we do know what lies ahead…both the good and the bad . We just don’t know excatly where we fit and for how long.

No one knows what tomorrow brings Bc. We only think we know what lies ahead, we fear what lies ahead, we have expectancy about what lies ahead but of course tomorrow is never guaranteed………………..bro Frank

Gods word does give us a hint . We just don’t fully understand it.

This morning I have been studying 1 John. “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear…” It is an amazing spiritual awakening to know for certain that when we have the SON we have eternal life. No matter the storm … and there is a storm of all storms just on the horizon … when we focus on Jesus knowing for a fact that we have THE eternal resurrection life living within us we can face the storm.
We do know the end result. Jesus is going to return, just as He promised,to redeem us who are His and judge those that have rejected Him.
Do we grieve over the lost … Yes. Will we at times become tired as we watch the spiral down … Yes. Will we panic … NO. Will we lose hope … NO.
Jesus said when we see all these things begin to happen we are to lift our heads and look up for our redemption draws near. If we are anchored in Christ we will not be overcome. If we are playing church by living religious yet denying the power that transforms.the storm will overcome us. We are to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith. We are to warn others and share The Blessed Hope.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 Scripture warns us to avoid people who, “Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof from such turn away” (2 Timothy 3:5) So How do we discern religious spirits? We look at the fruit of the Spirit … ” know them by their fruit.”
(Galatians5)
No matter the coming storms we must not get distracted from Christ. He lives! He is returning! His promises are true! He is our ever present tower and our refuge from the storm. We look not at the circumstance but at Him. We keep the cross ever before us … Passover is in a week or so. If we are in covenant with the Creator of everything what is there to fear?
