I will gladly embrace the cross.

Posted by appolus on August 3, 2017

The Lord has a cross tailor made for each of us. Yet, He does not require us to pick it up. We can lay it down. And every time we lay it down it is harder to pick it up. We can grudgingly pick it up and walk crying out “woe is me.” Few are the men and women who gladly pick it up. They gladly pick it up because it draws them deep into the Father’s heart and will. Not my will Lord but thine be done. I am coming Lord. We can count the cost and embrace the cross or we can lay it down and suffer the loss.

      Hi Lucas, you dont have to. Like I said, you are not compelled to. You will suffer great loss if you refuse to follow the will of the Lord but you will not be compelled to pick up your cross. I hope these verses helps the confusion that you feel………………bro Frank

      Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mat 16:24-26)

      Luk 9:23  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

      Mat 10:38  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

      • But if im a new creation in Christ why do I need to deny myself and take up the cross that I was crucified on? Sounds like your saying I have 2 natures.

          Lucas, your problem is not with me, it is with the Scriptures, in particular the Scriptures I just quoted you. Another example would be 2Ti 2:12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:  Given your apparent logic, and forgive me if I am wrong about where your coming from, you would not care for this Scripture either…. 2Ti 2:12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:

          Rom 5:3  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;

          Can you embrace tribulations Lucas, can you suffer because the Scriptures tell us that is we suffer with Him we shall also reign with him. All the promises of the first few chapters of Revelation are to those who endure and overcome. Endure what Lucas? Overcome what Lucas? This is the message of the cross. The sanctification process is not for the faint of heart or those who merely want to live there best lives now or simply want to prosper in the things of the world. What good is it if you prosper in all the things of the world but lose your soul in the process? I wont check you blog out but I will check out any Scripture you may have that refutes or negates or breaks the Scriptures that I have given you……………..bro Frank

          • Jesus said we will trials and tribulations im not disagreeing with you

            But Jesus also said we are new creatures, and that means Jesus is in us right now. We are born in the spirit, in the image of God. The Holy Spirit dwells in us making us the temple of the living God.

            So yes I can endure trials and over come them because Jesus is within me now and living through me now, and working in me now, and experiencing right now with me.

            This truth can be found in the Gospel of Christ, check out my site ♡

            We are new creatures in Christ Lucas, but I am sure you would agree that you are not perfect and that there is a sanctification process actually highlighted in one of the Scriptures I gave you. I am sure you would also agree that you have a sin nature and it is in your very flesh which is why you do, in fact, sin. There is remedy for that and it includes coming before the throne of grace and mercy, broken and contrite, being forgiven for the sins of the day………….bro Frank
