My miracles

Posted by appolus on September 16, 2016

This morning I was having a very unpleasant procedure. I was getting shots in my spine, in the neck and lower back. Before the procedure the doctor asked if he could pray with me if I did not mind, he said he prays for all of his patients and went on to acknowledge the Lord as the great healer. When I was laying face down there was music in the background on the radio. It was some noisy heavy rock stuff. The doc made the comment that it was not very relaxing music. So someone turned it of and then, all of a sudden a women, one of his nurses began to sing a hymn. I am lying there, knowing many people were praying for me, and here was this woman singing a hymn. The doctor said to her ” you have worked for me for 11 years and have never sung for me before.” When the procedure was over I got up and asked who had sung. The nurse came over and identified herself. I hugged her and told her that many people had been praying for me and that she had blessed me by singing. In the other room, another nurse was watching over me and we began to talk. She had had a troubled life and she shared with me some of the details. I shared with her a little of my own troubled background and shared with her how I had found healing and wholeness with the Lord. So, a day that was unpleasant physically was a a day that the Lord could use, first to reassure me and then to reach out to the nurse. Thank you Jesus.

The Lord provides in ways we would never expect, your post is a great example of that.

I am glad that you were blessed by this reminder that the Lord would never leave us nor forsake us and goes before us and hedges round about………..bro Frank

  4. Ever notice the difference between what seems like a blessing after something we’ve orchestrated and the miraculous spontaneous working of the Holy Spirit? We vainly think we can twist God’s arm and manipulate Him into giving us what we want- usually nothing more than some “spiritual goose bumps” we attribute to the Lord and His work. Oh, how much of our service in the name of Jesus is really little more than selfish flesh ranting and raving all about?

How much more valuable does our simple faith in God appear when we simply rest in Him and wait upon His supernatural working. It’s as if all of our efforts are abandoned and we simply watch the Lord orchestrate our lives events and simply obey Him moment by moment within that framework.

An awesome testimony Frank and I too often see Him working when I think or am actually frail/incapable- when I cease to strive and simply allow Him to pave the way.

There is a reason Jesus said my My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Might it be because of this:

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God in me” (1 Corinthians 15:10)

Just as in a musical composition, each instrument has a part to play. The key is knowing not just what to play, but when and with whom.

I am always so amazed at the goodness of God! I remember God telling me once, “Don’t worry about tomorrow Nora – I am already there.” He really does go before us and prepare every day for us. How awesome that you were able to experience His lovingkindness in such a remarkable way. It’s almost like angels took care of you. Maybe they were… 🙂

  6. Amen!! God is so good!! Nothing is wasted with God!
