My Highest for His Glory

Posted by appolus on September 10, 2016

Hi Saints, been writing this devotional for many years, kinda stalled out at the end of April, it may never be finished but here is what I have. I am starting at January 1 πŸ™‚ ….bro Frank

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, β€œplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, β€œand will bring you back from captivity. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Perhaps you have a family member or friend or loved one that seems to be in a hopeless situation, you may even have given up all hope for that person. Yet Our Lord is Hope itself. Hope is the wellspring that all of our joy flows from. We have two choices in this life, even as a Christian, we can live in hope or we can despair. Hope gives birth to joy and to life and to strength. It is because I am in Christ that my hope springs eternal. It is awesome to know that our Heavenly Father is willing to go to enormous lengths to fulfill His plans.

You can only see a snap-shot of your life but the Lord sees it all, from beginning to end. Keep on seeking the Lord with all of your heart. He will bring you out of this place that you find yourself in. Lift up your eyes today and see where your help comes from. Your help comes from the Lord. He sees the afflictions of your heart and He knows your pain. Be encouraged today saint, the Lord your God is with you and He wants you to know that. (January 1,My Highest for His Glory)

    Bro. Frank,

You said, “…been writing this devotional for many years, kinda stalled out at the end of April, it may never be finished but here is what I have.”

When you know … you know! πŸ™‚

Years ago when my wife and I pastored a small church in Coos Bay, OR I preached my heart out for three years … taped every message. During those three years, the Lord anointed over 300 “messages”, not one of which were the same.

One day, while trying to search the heart of the Spirit as to what He wanted to minister the coming Sunday, there was NOTHING there … just empty space! I KNEW at that moment that my time was up at that particular church. So, I was faced with a choice:

Either I could “force” the issue … or I could start “repeating” my previous messages … or I could politely “move on”. I chose the latter.

Now, I’m not suggesting anything to you … just sharing a common experience! πŸ™‚

    God Bless You Brother,
    Tim

Hi bro Tim, I accept what you say and I agree about not forcing anything. My problem is a little different and I have run into it before. I have about 900 articles that I have written in the last eight years. I need 365 pieces to write the devotional. I stalled out I think, because of circumstances and situations and distractions. If there is any rich people out there who have a cabin by a lake they would like to give me for a couple of months I will take it πŸ™‚ 300 messages is a lot brother and I am sure that they covered a vast array of subjects, perhaps the whole spectrum, so I would not be against going back and chewing over what the Lord gave me, especially as age and experience can lend to our understanding of the riches and the depths of His Word………………………bro Frank

Great devotional – Please help me pray for those who are unsaved in my family. We also need to pray for Hillary Clinton at this time. She has pneumonia and almost collapsed yesterday. She, as do we all, needs the Lord God in her life. Also, please pray for Donal Trump and both VP candidates. One of these people will be our leader – “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Pray that these will meet the Righteous One and become His.

    Bro. Frank,

Absolutely! Like I said, I wasn’t “suggesting” anything to you personally … we’re all unique in the Lord. And as a side note, the last minister I knew who wanted a “cabin by a lake” was offered one by a rich couple … but he refused it … because he knew by the Spirit they wanted to use it to subtly to manipulate him in the future! Such is life on this planet. But I will certainly pray for you, Brother, that the Lord ministers to you “afresh” in every area of your present need! πŸ™‚

Finally, what I’m experiencing now at this phase in the Lord, is exactly what you said:

“…age and experience can lend to our understanding of the riches and the depths of His Word.”

As circumstances require, the Lord “quickens” His Word to me in a new depth that the older “messages” (though true and wholesome) just didn’t reach! Almost all of the articles on my blog are from 35 years ago. But I find the current messages are for me personally and well up from within my heart with great encouragement.

    God Bless! πŸ™‚
