Taking full possession

Posted by appolus on May 17, 2019

We love and hold up the self made man or woman. We exalt confidence and find it very attractive. Yet, there is nothing more attractive than vulnerability on a spiritual level. It is the door to the inner chambers of our hearts. So many of us have erected high towers in the very center of our hearts. The foundations of those towers are begun usually when we are very young, and each blow in life can just be another stone in the tower, another brick in the wall. Yet if we truly want to be “known,” then the tower must come down. By the power of the Holy Spirit the walls of Jericho fell. The Israelites had to conquer this stronghold if they were ever to possess the promised land. It was not good enough to simply cross the Jordan. If God is to have all of us, if we are to have true and genuine relationships with our spouse and our children and our brothers and sisters in Christ, if they are to truly know us then the walls must come down. Then, and only then can we take full possession of everything that God has for us.

Good word brother Frank. Your quote, “it is simply not good enough to just cross Jordan” is a word for the church today.. Crossing Jordan merely enters us into the battle. When will Christians wake up to this simple fact, and get with the program.

Indeed, crossing the Jordon is just the beginning, Jericho is a major part of the journey, but many battles lie ahead and there are giants to be slayed………………….bro Frank

So true, Brother Frank! This week I have had to deal with my own difficult parents (separately as they are divorced) and two close friends shared with me ways their mother’s hurt them – our defense mechanism is to coil up and not let anyone in! I realize we are the promised land for the Lord – but praise God He does not swallow up our Ites all at once! He is so good and knows perfectly how to do it – I am standing on His promises and ways of bringing His promises into fruitfulness!

Amen sister and excellent point. Our lives are journey’s, we are pilgrims on the way and the journey passes through many different kinds of terrain, each of them with their own unique challenges. Rivers and deserts, oceans and of course mountains. It is comforting to know that the God who created all of these things can dry up the ocean’s if need be. He can make the desert bloom and He is with us as we pass through the waters. He can also cause the mountains to crumble and to melt in His presence…………………bro Frank
