Swallowed up in Christ

We in the West have spent so much time telling people that all you have to do is come to Jesus and all your problems will be solved. From the beginning this was never who Jesus was or is. He is the one who stands in the fire with us. He is the one that sustains us in the floods. Floods of life, floods of tears, floods of fears, He is the one who stands. People need a Saviour. Jesus is not an addition to an otherwise perfect life. He is life itself. To know Jesus is life and all else is death. To know Jesus is light and all else is darkness. The perfect life in this world without Him is perfect darkness, it’s a shroud that covers our death. Yet a call from the depths of our hearts, darkened and broken by life, dismantled by sin, brings Him near. What will you do darkness when my Lord comes? Death, where is your sting and where is your victory when Life itself comes walking by? You are all swallowed up in Christ my Lord.
