Time for Christians to Reject Limbaugh, Hannity and Coulter.

“Everywhere I go I also find that Americans are very proud of their country and rightly so. Yet the pundits that I mentioned above tear into the very fabric of the soul of this country. Day after day spewing out divisiveness and hatred, and for what ? Money, fame , influence? Well they have all that but look at the landscape of their legacy.”
TIME FOR CHRISTIANS TO REJECT LIMBAUGH, HANNITY AND COULTER
For years American Christians have listened to people whom they believe represent them. All I can say is shame on all true Christians who have helped these particular people in their careers.
We have been called by the Lord Himself to be peacemakers. These people are and have been so divisive. They pander to the narrow minded and the bigoted.
Day after day they go about their business, tearing into anyone who does not agree with their particular point of view.
We have just seen them rise up against John McCain because they were being ignored by the masses and this was an assualt on their ego’s.
Let me just say, I like Barack Obama. I am a sold out believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, He is my Lord and Savior as many of my posts would testify to. I only qualify that last statement because there are many in the Christian community who would believe I could not be a Christian and like Obama, utter nonsense.
Let me take all the politics out of it and tell you why I like this man. He is not in the business of tearing people down. He speaks of hope and a better future. And before some may say that I am naive, I have followed politics for 25 years.
I came to America in 1990 from Scotland. I came to Christ less than a year later. Words cannot describe how much I love America. She has been so good to my family and me. She welcomed me in with open arms.
I have travelled from north to south and from East to West and everywhere I go I find the average American to be sweet and kind and always willing to be helpful.
The idea of America is a great one and her people made it possible for the working out of that idea. Yes it is a secular country, like all other Western countries, but its the best one. The average American has humor and charm and love and a warmness that your just not going to find anywhere else in the world. That is something to be proud of.
Everywhere I go I also find that Americans are very proud of their country and rightly so. Yet the pundits that I mentioned above tear into the very fabric of the soul of this country. Day after day spewing out divisiveness and hatred, and for what ? Money, fame , influence? Well they have all that but look at the landscape of their legacy.
One wedge issue after another used to divide the people and sell more books, and get more viewers and listeners.
I for one am exhausted and disgusted by the politics of the last 12 or 14 years. I think the country is too. That broad mass of good people out there are tired of it I feel.
If anyone wants to know why Mr Obama is doing well, its because he speaks to the average American. The average American is honest and decent and kindhearted.
That is why they will vote for someone who is honest and decent and kindhearted.
Perhaps you may think my comments are one sided and that I have ignored the haters from the left. I have deliberately ignored them because I want to speak to Christians who support these above mentioned people, so called pundits.
We are the ones who will give an account to the Lord for every word that comes out of our mouth. We are stewards of our time and our resources and we are called to be good stewards.
I just want to end by saying I want to be known as someone who is sold out to Jesus. I want to be known as someone who is loving and kind and generous, someone who is slow to anger, gentle in reproach and above all, someone who loves his enemies.
It does not really matter if the world knows you as a Liberal or a Conservative, Democrat or Republican, do they know you by your love? Do you want to stand before the Lord and tell him how conservative your were, how fiscally correct you were?
Do you want to stand before Him and tell Him how liberal you were, how socially minded you were? None of that matters without love and forgiveness and a willingness to always think the best of the other guy. None of that matters unless you are kind. None of that matters if you are blinded by pride and vanity.
We must not rejoice when another man stumbles, we must rejoice in the truth. We must believe in the possibilities of all things, hope must stand strong.
And finally we must be all of these things in the midst of endurance. For if we are only these things when all is well, then we are none of those things. It is when our backs are to the wall that the strength of who we are in Christ comes shining through.
1 Cor 13:3-7
3 And if I bestow all my goods to feed (the poor), and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Love suffereth long, (and) is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;
6 rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth;
7 beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
